PLease Accept My Humble Obeisances.
When we start on the spiritual path, the first thing that happens is FAITH. We develop faith and we need to keep faith in the most trying circumstances that Krsna is there with us, overseeing us and will let any harm come to us. If any harm happens, its because He has a plan.
The mind becomes much calmer, material hankering reduces and spiritual hankering is awakened. The devotee is fearless - he knows that even little progress done on this path will never be destroyed. He doesnt bow down or get attracted to rich and famous, knowing that all riches and fame are coming from Krsna, better to be attracted to the source. He is not obsessed with his body and health - he takes reasonable care of body, but doesnt hit the roof the moment a pimple appears (for instance).
Emotions are far more balanced - he doesnt get toooooo happy or tooooo sad. Both times, he remembers that everything in this world is temporary - this too shall pass. He becomes more forgiving, therefore lesser anger. More compassionate, understands that there is only one solution to all problems of this world - Krsna bhakti.
