Hare Krishna dear Devotees, please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

The main thing what market should do is to provide needed things to the society. Things like: pure food, cloths, household things etc.

Over advertising and agitating peoples' mind is also not good for a Devotee. Because it is a violence. To glorify that thing which is not so important in life or even does not have any use. Things like these days all films advertise moder fashion, perfumes...and youngsters accept it as a mean of life.

I do not know what is share market, but what wealth we have we have to share it with those who does not have wealth. And it is indeed glorified. As like Bali Maharaja used to live.

Vedic culture is organized in such a way so that everyone have the basic needs fulfilled. For example, around the house of a wealthy people live many poor families and it is wealthy man's duty to take care of them either giving them service or just providing them with food, cloth. It is Vedic culture.

Because in Vedic culture every one knows about the laws of karma.

Share Market: Aakash  Menon Prabhu, You solve this problem Your self by analyzing that market: where money comes from? are the goods which are advertised are suitable for use or cheating something, will it harm someone even animals? Is there any use for others from this share market....

Please forgive me if the answer was not to the point!

Hare Krishna Aakash Prabhuji. Dandavat Pranam. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Gambling is prohibitied because it increases one's greed to earn more money to satisfy his lust. And lust leads to sinful activities. But in regard to share market it may be lebeled under gambling or may not depending on the objective of the investor. Generally traders do gamble in share market and completely obessed with the market , they put all their energy in making money only and totally forget that their is something beyond money BUT it is not the case with all who invests in stock market, generally a common man who invests in Share market through mutual fund for saving purpose thus he can achieve some long term objective in life like retirement, children's education, sons/daughters marriage that guy not become that much obessed like the person earlier.

So investing in share can't be called gambling, if one is not obessed with share market and just invest for long term objective and may even to the extent to use the lump sum for making a temple or donating a land for Krishna. If by pouring money in Share market one atleast get a chance to retire from this karmi life in his middle age and use half portion of money for Krishna Consciousness movement then it will be yukta Vairagya and that is Philosophy.

In todays' situation for a Grihasta material basic neccessities has to be taken care of else it sometimes affects the spiritual life also. It is not that only share market, even LIC,PPF,FI,RD all invest their money in share market. Then waht can be done. Nothing is aspicious here But all become aspicious when we lead a Krishna conscious life using this material stuffs for Krishna's service.

    Hope this will help

    Your aspiring Servant
    Hari Bol
