Some 1.5 years ago i used to see most of people on ISKCON DESIRE Tree website,and especially the devotee's.
Now i saw a trend that most of the devotee's are moving on to FACEBOOK ,they are quite addicted to it , in some way it is affecting our devotional service or say devotional life .
I know some Prabhuji's who only for preaching Krsna Consciousness are on Facebook ,and they just visits the KC page on Facebook just to update preaching text .They are not addicted to it .
The purpose of creating ISKCON Desire Tree website was to offer a means like Facebook offers , so that people can contact devotee,talk and share so that the atmosphere of devotional environment is maintained .
It's name also Suggest - " Devotee Network "
Is correct to say we are falling in a Ditch called Facebook or Social Networking ?
Should we reload the IDT objective and mission ?

Whatever You say is true.
We should not be addicted to some social web sites and waste our time. Where we could use those hours for doing kirtan and reading books.
It would be very nice if we could come together here on IDT and have such like interactive association here on Krishna's web site. It would be really nice.
And use other social web sites for attracting those souls who do not know of God anything yet. Who do not know about the Holy Names.
As Srila Prabhupada said Western technology + Eastern philosophy = perfection of life.
So kids like to play computer game so we have to create games but those which remind of Krishna. People want to hear songs, beautiful song so we can make songs but those which remind of Krishna.
People like to eat, better to teach them in an attractive way how to cook and remember Krishna......
They like this that and we have to try to enter into their likings and just try to add Krishna in everything.

reminds me of a funny thing my parents' spiritual master: HDG MahaVIshnu Maharaja (managed ISKCON Rajkot; passed away a few years back) told us once. I don't remember the build up exactly since this was like 10 years ago and I was a child so ...
Anyway, we were at the temple, and he was giving a lecture. He brought up the fact that we should remember Krishna constantly, but we don't want to do that. He gave the example of a microwave. And he emphasized Micro as My Crow. So then he said why remember this "crow" and why say "my" to something material ... it's much better to say MyKrishnaWave ;)
All these years, I'm quite amazed that I remembered that ... but it's something i always think back to.
