Any vedic scripture that speaks of Manu?

Hare Krishna,

I was reading the Gita and in one of the verses Krishna says that he imparted the knowledge of the Gita first to the Sun God, who later gave it to Manu, who in turn gave it to Iksvaku.

I really would like to know more about Manu and his descendants.

Is Manu human or a demi-god,  coz his lifespan as mentioned in the Gita is 305,300,000 years.

And is there any connection between Manu and the person whom the jews and christians call Adam?

Thanks.

    Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

    PAMHO.

Manu is a post - a qualified jiva gets that post. If no jiva qualifies, then the Supreme Lord expands Himself as Manu for that age. Like the Govt of any country, the term of each Manu is ... chaturyugas. There are 14 Manus in a day of Brahma, 1000 Chaturyugas. You can do the math.

All this information is in Srimad Bhagawatam. Once you have read Gita once, you can start reading Srimad Bhagawatam.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
