Am I devotee of Krishna

Hare Krishna to All Devotees

All Glories To Srila Prabhupada

Hare Krishna Dear Devotees. Good afternoon. Im Harigaran here. Im 27 and Im from Singapore. Well Im not a devotee and I eat meat.

I was introduced to Krishna Consciouness by a advanced devotee in 2010 when I was 23. Since then I have been going to Krishna Consciouness temples and centres here in Singapore and doing seva

I have done many seva and I still have a huge passion to do many many more seva for Sri Krishna and Srimathi Radharani. I have done book distribution seva where I will buy Krishna Consciouness book using my own money from the Krishna Consciouness Temple and distribute it at our local Siva Durga Temple. I have distributed so far 1000 books.

I have also done Prasadham Seva where I will sponsor Prasadham at our Krishna Consciouness Temple. I have done Prasadham Seva four times since 2011. I started this seva at age 24. My recent Prasadham Seva are for Srila Bhakthisiddhantha Saraswathi Thakur Maharaj's Appearance Day and Radhasthami last year.

I also did a seva to a Guru Maharaj when he visited Singapore last year. I co orindated the programmes, Maharaj's place of stay and Prasadham.

Even though I have done all these seva, since Im a meat eater and I dont chant, I see myself as a non devotee and who is not worth for Krishna Consciouness. I still believe I have a long way to go. Please advise and guide me. Thank you so much

Nice to meet You Harigaran Prabhu!

    Why You eat meat?

For example, i do not like to eat even grains or heavy sweets like cakes etc. Because if i eat them i suffer because of too much dizziness, laziness ...and of course over weight.

But meat is far more heavier...no?

    • Hare Krishna Mataji

Please Accept My Humble Obeisances. Well I'm used to eating meat all these years since childhooand. Meat doesn't necessarily gives fat. It gives protein and calcium. Eating meat or not is not important. Whats important our love and devotion to Sri Krishna and Srimathi Radharani. We are supposed not to be materialistic be it bodily or material possessions. There are campaigns going around such as eye donating, heart donating, liver donating, bone marrow donating etc. Meat eaters all over the world are signing up for such events to donate their organs after their deaths. Please forgive me if I have said anything offensive. Thank you Mataji

  • Like our gospel says: what you do thats good is good, what you do thats bad is bad. But he who performs the action is beyond the good and the bad, by that Being's Supreme Grace you are able to form all sorts of conceptualizations as to the good and bad of your actions or inactions. How kind is that dude deep within, that ... ( i remain in silence ). That energy??? Well friend, it seems to me that part of you being excellent and on the downhill spiral of devotion is your aspiration for extreme personal excellency. Which may or may not come, either way it is ignorance in truth, or perhaps were you able to eat meat without God's approval? The lord plays with you and lets you believe you do what you do and you cause change, you carry on your shoulders millenia years of karma and thoughs of reproach, but even if the lord set u free from the plunders of the mind, you would still come to taste the sweet meat pies of beef steak and lard. Worry not prabhu, for even the animals must end their pitiful existences as such, and when time devours you, then perhaps... You ll enjoy being who you are, perhaps then meat, no meat, faireness, unfairness, all these value judgement opinions will go away. Every action has a réaction in the world, but what goes on in your mind, who knows... :-/

  • Hare Krishna Dear Priyanka Mataji,

Please Accept My Humble Obeisances. Thank you so much for your kind answer. For now I am only inspired to do seva. Not inspired and passionate to be devotee. Maybe in the future I will be inspired. Im a servant and a son not only to Sri Krishna and Srimathi Radharani but to all Gods and deities. I want to serve and do seva as a son and servant to all the Gods. Thank you so much

    All Glories To You Mataji.
  • Hare Krishna Rashmi Khaitan Mataji,

Please Accept My Humble Obeisances. Thank you so much for your reply

Well Mataji I'm more interested to do seva than being a devotee. Krishna always give what we desire. That's why He just let me do seva only as Im only passionate doing seva. Im not passionate being a devotee. The Lord will certainly force no one if he or she is not passionate to be a devotee. Thank you so much Mataji
  • My friend. One must know of all religeon and purpose. Do you think harming a blade of grass is not hurting a conciouse thing, for all is consiousness. The idea behind all disciplines is in temperance. Make for yourself a temple for god to reside in. Everyone is worthy of krishna if they look towards god. It has to do with discipline (temperance), do not forget the reason for myth and ritualistic habbits. That being said, give and sacrafice in the way your heart tells you.

  • Arjuna:  I understand that You are saying that he will become righteous.  There is no dispute.  But if he remains sinful and does abominable activities, do we still consider him a sadhu during his life?

Krishna:    My devotee never perishes!  Even if he dies, he does not become degraded.

Arjuna:    Many people will not agree.   How can I help them to understand?

Krishna:  Take mrdangas, take karatals and drums and bang everything loudly. Go...go wherever they are speaking like this and raise both hands in the air and make a vow. Take an oath in My Name and say this: The devotee, the Lord's devotee, even if improperly behaving shall never perish!

    Arjuna:  What will happen, Krishna?

Krishna:  When you speak like this, all the people will fall at your feet out of love and say,O Arjuna, you are my guru!

Arjuna:  But why are You asking me to take this vow?  Why are You Yourself not taking it?

Krishna:    I like My devotees very much, and I cannot tolerate any problems put upon them.  I always protect My devotees.  On this battlefield, I'll have to break My own vow when you are fighting with Bhisma. People will only know this Bhagavad-Gita after the battle, and they'll say, "Oh, He spoke so many words, but He broke them all!". How-ever, they'll know that your words are like lines on a stone. Therefore you should make this vow, Arjuna.

So go where people are doubting the potency of devotion and make this declaration boldly.  That even those of sinful birth, who are naturally impious, if they get the association of My devotees and surrender, then I will give them shelter. They can attain the supreme destination. What to speak of the brahmins, devotees, and saintly kings.  Therefore, Arjuna, even though you have taken a temporary body in this world, you are a rajarsi, so render service to Me...

But Please do check this, what we are consuming...
