    There are herbal teas to replace caffeine teas. Herbal teas like cardamom tea, ginger tea, mint tea, chamomile tea.. These herbal tea bags are sold in stores. With the ginger tea bag, just put 1 ginger tea bag in a cup of hot water. You can drink these teas without adding milk.

    Usually Ayurveda recommends to drink cinnamon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamon tea. Or to have cinnamon along with milk in the morning. 

    That spice helps us to be more alert. But usually Ayurvedic drugs act slowly so it is normal.

    Brain works not because of coffee or tea but if we eat white maida in lunch time when Sun is strong then it will be a food for the mind. Wheat and sometimes nice rice are very good for the mind. But they should be taken on time when Sun is powerfull.

    But if we eat grainy food before the Sun rise then it goes in vain. We won't take enough nutrients of the food...

    So by living to nature's laws we suffer less.
