About Krishna and Sudama

Hare Krishna, dear devotees !! All glories to Srila Prabhupada !!

My mother was listening to a lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam at Aastha Channel where a person was lecturing on how Krishna received Sudama so graciously. The person who was giving the lecture is a bramhin by birth and he says that Krishna's reason for treating Sudama so warmly is to show everyone that how one should respect and honour a Bramhin. I was not fully satisfied with his view.I feel Krishna treated Sudama warmly because he was Krishna's childhood friend and above all he was a great devotee of Krishna.

Kindly share your views and enlighten me on this !!

Your most insignificant servant,

Haribol !!

To add to what Viral Prabhu said -

When a Brahmin usually enters, the first thing one does is offer respects (folding palms, touching feets, etc)... but what Krsna did was different:

In that same paragraph, we also see this too:

"At that time, Lord Krsna was sitting on the bedstead of Queen Rukmini. Even from a considerable distance He could see the brahmana coming to His home, and He could recognize him as His friend. Lord Krsna immediately left His seat and came forward to receive His brahmana friend and, upon reaching him, embraced the brahmana with His two arms. Lord Krsna is the reservoir of all transcendental pleasure, and yet He Himself felt great pleasure upon embracing the poor brahmana because He was meeting His very dear friend."

So Krsna welcomes his friend first, and then he does the "brahmana welcoming ritual" that Viral Prabhu pointed out (washing the feet, etc) because his friend was a brahmana, and then he goes back to being a friend.
