    • Everything depends on desire.

Dear Lord arrange life of every living being in the universe based on their desires.

Even blade of a grass cant move without His arrangement.

        thanks for your wonderful reply..

i have been regularly visiting the temple ( every day since 1.5 years) , i am a pure vegetarian , i dont consume any intoxication substances , i have prasadam at the temple, i sometimes even clean the area where the prasadam is distributed , i dont have a japamala so therefore i dont do rounds , but i keep chanting the mahamantra 24x7.
apart from all this i really feel that i should get more closer to Krishna , that i pray to the lord in a more correct and acceptable manner, therefore i feel that i must look for some kind of siksha and to take harinam Diksha.
please share your views on this,

          Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

          PAMHO.

If you do not have japa beads, please buy prabhu. It will cost you Rs. 10. Please start chanting on beads from today and see how many rounds you are comfortably doing.

Please ask your local ISKCON temple what congregational preaching program they have for devotees like you and join immediately.

We will talk about diksha later - first take shiksha and come to the level of diksha.

To be a member of ISKCON, one doesnt need to take diksha. There is no force - it happens automatically. Wait till then.

Diksha is important because the Supreme Lord Himself took - as Krsna from Sandipani Muni, as Vishwambhar from Sri Isvara Puripada. Surrendering to a live guru and following his instructions are important angas of devotional life. We will come to that after you have taken up a formal shiksha and have started to chant in a regulated manner.

You will know the difference only when you try. Chanting on beads in no way means that one stops the 24*7 chanting. It only facilitates that and tells us where we stand.

          Haribol,

          Your servant,

          Radha Rasamayi DD

        • Srila Narottama dasa Thakura says, sadhu-sastra-guru-vakya, cittete kariya aikya.

One should accept a thing as genuine by studying the words of saintly people, the spiritual master and sastra.

The actual center is sastra, the revealed scripture. If a spiritual master does not speak according to revealed scripture, he is not to be accepted. Similarly, if a saintly person does not speak according to the sastra, he is not a saintly person.

Sastra is the center for all.

  • All varna and ashrama dharma priciples, rules, regulations and ceremonies,  are meant for gradually bringing the unsteady mind under control. When mind become steady and controlled, then can be fully focused on Lord.

By humble attitude, serving mood  and association of qualified spiritual master, students  progress toward Absolute truth or God is likely.
