During the Shravana paurnami (the full moon day in the month of Shravana), Balarama Purnima (the appearance day of Lord Balarama) is celebrated. This celebration is particularly important to the Dauji temple in Vrindavan, where Balarama and Revati (the consort of Balarama) reside in nitya-lila. Balaram Appearance is celebrated in all Vishnu and Krishna temples and in the temples of ISKCON in India and world over. In 2011, Balaram appearance is observed on 13th August.

BHUKTI & MUKTI ARE INSIGNIFICANT

THE JIVA IS THE ETERNAL SERVANT OF SRI KRSNA. Without BHAKTI everything is destroyed. The tree of BHAKTI , BHAKTI VRKSA, gives the fruit of prema. that fruit is proyajna or the final goal of life. That krsna prema is our eternal wealth , in comparison to which BHUKTI & MUKTI are insignificant. Sri Krsna is sat , cit & ananda. He is like sun, the jivas are like rays of sun MAYA is the shadow. Eat Drink and be Sorry

Food is Death - Eat drink and be sorry.Food not offered to Krishna is as good as poison. If you try to offer meat fish and eggs to Krishna, beware you will be in deep trouble soon. You have limited choice about what to offer, just offer only pure vegetarian food cooked in a clean atmosphere.

Food is Death-Amazing but true, this is what the yogis say. Once I was travelling up a mountain in the area famous for Jim Corbett's tiger spottings. Mukteshwar is a lovely place to visit, and a yogi used to li

Universal Message

Where is the religion which does not recognize God? One may call God "Allah" or "Krishna" or something else, but where is that religion which does not recognize God? We are teaching that one should simply try to love God. We are attracted by so many things, but if our love is reposed in God, then we will be happy. We don't have to learn to love anything else; everything else is automatically included. Just try to love God. Don't try to love just trees or plants or insects. This will never satisf

A jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.  'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'. 'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email that means you don’t exist. And who doesn't exist, can’t have the job.'

The man left with

Sweet Like Sugar Candy

rupa%2B%2526%2Bsanatana.jpg

The holy name, character, pastimes and activities of Kṛiṣhṇa are all transcendentally sweet like sugar candy. Although the tongue of one afflicted by the jaundice of avidya [ignorance] cannot taste anything sweet, it is wonderful that simply by carefully chanting these sweet names every day, a natural relish awakens within his tongue, and his disease is gradually destroyed at the root.

Srila Prabhupada in  Prayer

Things don't always go nicely in this material world.  Sometimes we experience very bewildering and even devastating situations. Such times, although apparently unwelcome at first, are actually the greatest blessing because they give us the best opportunity to feelingly call out to the Lord for His shelter and protection, which is, in the final analysis, our only safe position in this world, where there is danger at every step.

Who is Krishna?

Who is Bhagavan? Bhagavan means one who is fully equipped with six opulences. Krishna is accepted by the authorities as Bhagavan, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Bhagavan is the richest personality. We are proud of possessing a few acres of land, and Bhagavan means who is the proprietor of the whole universe. Therefore He is considered the richest. Similarly, He is considered the strongest. And similarly, He is considered the wisest. And similarly, He is the most beautiful personality. In

Prayer for Mercy

Sri Prahlada prayed to Nrsimhadeva: “O my Lord, O Supreme Personality of
Godhead, original spiritual master of the entire world, what is the
difficulty for You, who manage the affairs of the universe, in delivering
the fallen souls engaged in Your devotional service? You are the friend of
all suffering humanity, and for great personalities it is necessary to show
mercy to the foolish. Therefore I think that You will show Your causeless
mercy to persons like us, who engage in Your service--the service

I Wanted To Chant Like A Lover

lord%2Bcaitanya%2Bbeads.jpg

I wanted to chant with care in my moral and spiritual feelings toward Nama Prabhu. Seeing Radha-Govinda helped because They are tenderness personified. I wanted to chant like a lover. I chanted in a subdued way, because I had to because of my head. But it also lent itself towards feelings of warmth and sympathy, gentle and delicate. One should handle the holy name in that way. It was a nice feeling. I’d like to always chant in that way.

No escape

The so-called happy materialistic person is constantly having to endure the threefold miseries of life, called adhidaivika, adhyatmika and adhibhautika.Actually no one can counteract these threefold miseries. All three may assail one at one time, or one misery may be absent and the other present. Thus the living entity is full of anxiety, fearing misery from one side or the other. The conditioned soul must be disturbed by at least one of these three miseries. There is no escape.

Don’t be a Stereotype

Hare Krishna

The nature of the mind is that, because of not finding inner fulfillment, it gets the tendency to make insignificant things seem very important. As long as we don’t focus our consciousness on higher principles, these little things appear insurmountable.

Leson to be Learnt

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you wan...t me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less danger

Krishna is helping you!

Question: What is the difference between material and spiritual?Answer: Does material mean here and spiritual means there? Thedifference between material and spiritual is a very thin line. When wedo something for ourselves, that’s material. When we do something forKrishna that is spiritual. So knowledge also or occupational skillsthat you have, if you use them for your sense gratification for yoursake, yes, then its useless. It’s not going to benefit you. It maybring you some money but it won’t

Importance of hearing

In the body parts why ears are given so much importance?

Ears are given importance because "Shravanam" is a form of Navavida Bhakti ???...

The holes of the ears are like the sky. As the sky can never be filled up, the quality of the ear is such that one may go on pouring in vibrations of various kinds, yet it is capable of receiving more and more vibrations

>>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 3.15.49

The two ears are situated on the northern side and the southern side. The ear on the southern side is very stro

We Are What We Eat

The recent out-break of E.coli in Europe, due to bacterial contamination in
vegetables caused death of 18 people. Immediately people started convincing
others and there were lots of news in electronic and mass media, spreading
rumors that vegetables are not at all suitable for human consumption. This
is the height of demoniac mentality.

Birth and death of any living entity is as per Krishna's plan and all the
reasons we see for its cause like disease, accident, murder etc, are mere
external reasons. Hu

Liberation

Hare Krishna!

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Guruand Gauranga.
All glroies to Srila Prabhupada.

We can all go on answering each question for all of eternity but we won't be finished. Lord Seshashayi is chanting the Lord's glories for all of eternity and has never repeated Himself but hasn't run out of things to say. :-)

In fact, a pure devotee does not desire any type of liberation. A pure devotee simply seeks service for its own sake. And the service given by a pure devotee of th
