Ayodhya Dasa, a devotee of Indian descent, joined ISKCON in 1976 in Detroit and was initiated by Srila Prabhupada in 1977. While in Detroit he distributed books while serving in the life membership department. But for many years he wanted to go to Vrndavana. In 1995 Krsna made the arrangement. That year his brother-in-law passed away in India and he was asked to attend the funeral ceremony because he was the only surviving male in the family.

He took the opportunity to visit Vrndavana. He loved

Echo in Krishna's ear

-Do you hear this sound, Arjuna?

-Which sound? No, I do not hear anything.

It was long after battle of Kurukshetra. Arjuna and Krishna were sitting together and Krishna opened His heart to His friend. He told that still I hear the crying voice of Draupadi calling My Name: "Hey, Govinda!" This echo is still there in my ear and heart. And every time I keep Myself ready to run to help to her."

The Letter of Rukmini to Krishna

This letter was sent to Krishna by Rukmini. In this beautiful  letter her love for the sweet lord is seen. These verses appear in Srimad Bhagavat maha Puranam--

O the infallible and the most handsome One! Having heard Your qualities, which enter through the path of ears and absolve away the pains of life, and having heard about Your handsome appearance, which is the only asset of the eyes of living beings with eyes, my heart is accepting You as a consort leaving behind shyness.||1||

One must give up all otherresponsibilities. This complete surrender unto the Supreme Personality ofGodhead is the most auspicious path for the conditioned soul because theSupreme Lord is the supreme objective of love. Everyone is loving his selfaccording to the advancement of his knowledge. Ultimately, when a personcomes to understand t

What is the price for entering

into the kingdom of God ?

One should learn how to cry for the Lord.  One should learn this small technique, and he should bevery eager and actually cry to become engaged in some particular type of service.  This is called ‘laulyam’, and such tears are the price for the highest perfection.   If one develops this ‘laulyam’, orexcessive eagerness for meeting and serving the Lord in a particular way, that is the price to enterinto the kingdom of God.

Can Come Through Purely

sacinandana%2Bswami%2Bjapa.jpg

Please know that by chanting the holy name all anarthas will be removed. When our heart is cleansed from all this anartha dust, the form, qualities and pastimes of the Lord will automatically manifest themselves on the clear mirror of the purified heart. All this will be understood clearly when the coverings are removed from our heart. But it is important that you make special effort to avoid the offenses so that the holy name can come through purely and gives you all the perfections.

Srila Prabhupada on Asuric Rulers

Kṛṣṇa appears in this world for two purposes, paritrāṇāya sādhūnāḿ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām: [Bg. 4.8] to protect the innocent, religious devotees of the Lord and to annihilate all the uneducated, uncultured asuras, who unnecessarily bark like dogs and fight among themselves for political power. It is said, kali-kāle nāma-rūpe kṛṣṇaavatāra. The Hare Kṛṣṇa movement is also an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa in the form of the holy name (nāma-rūpe). Every one of us who is actually afraid of the asuric rulers and

TURMOIL OF YOUTH, WITHIN THE FAMILY

Q. I have a concern about my attitude with my family these days. I have been arguing about almost everything and it is really hard for me to control. Half the problem is solved because I realized that the reason I can even talk back to them is because I don't have respect for them in my heart. The other half is I don't know how to develop the respect again for them. What should I do?You are half way to reaching a solution already! A major part of any interpersonal conflict is recognizing our own

Morning activities

It had become a habit that Srila Prabhupada and his entourage would travel quite lightly. All the items Srila Prabhupada required would easily fit into a couple of suitcases along with Prabhupada's four or five sets of clothes, a couple of sweaters, Prabhupada's cooker and most of Srutakirti's belongings.

Srutakirti set about quickly unpacking Srila Prabhupada's bags. He placed Prabhupada's pen and his tilaka set on his low desk along with his compact mirror used when Prabhupada

Better to stay in the association of devoteesThursday, 5 February 1973It was less than ten months since Srila Prabhupada's last visit to Australia. Despite their very best intentions, however, the devotees were once again not quite ready for Srila Prabhupada's arrival. Prabhupada's flight from Bangkok was scheduled to stop in transit in Sydney. The Sydney devotees had planned to greet him there, and then stay with him for the few hours until he boarded his local flight to Melbourne. But there ha
