Duties of a householder Vaisnava

"A Vaisnava householder should always live according to the prescribed
duties; graciously hosting guests to their full satisfaction. His
spiritual discipline will not be  impaired by his living or
associating with his wife. Nor is it forbidden for him to use mustard
oil or other perfumed oil. Foods like milk, curd, etc., which are
considered by ritualistic brahmanas to be inedible and non-vegetarian,
become wholesome vegetarian food for the yukta-vairagi.

Aindra Prabhu's Quote

" If we don't have complete faith in the congregational chanting of the Holy
Name, if we have very little taste and attraction for chanting and dancing
and thereby relatively disinterested or diverted to other engagements,
leaving ourselves little of any time to seriously TAKE UP THE RELIGION OF
THE AGE, if we didn't recognize the beauty and value of
hari-nama-sankirtana, and if we are not intent upon practically helping to
push foreward the most sublime dharma emphatically prescribed by Lord
Caitanya,

Everything has beginning and everything has an end. Every tree begins with a seed and will eventually transform back into earth. In our modern world, this means that every car, every machine, every piece of clothing is created and all will wear out and crumble; it’s only a matter of time. Our bodies are born and they will die. A glass is created and will eventually break. All of life is in a constant state of change.

When you expect something to break, you’re not surprised or disappointed when it

One should not be more attached to wife, children and home than the revealed scriptures ordain.

Srila Prabhupada speaks of his own life experience:A blessing by Srila Prabhupads father

You know that I was a married man. So after being married, I did not like my wife. (laughter) Somehow or other, I did not like. I must say she is very faithful, very everything... Everyone praised. But I did not like, somehow or other. So I was preparing for next marriage. Next marriage. Because in India, at that t

He loses the capacity.

When one deviates from his original consciousness, he loses the capacity to remember his previous position or recognize his present one. When remembrance is lost, all knowledge acquired is based on a false foundation. When this occurs, learned scholars consider that the soul is lost.

PURPORT

Our original consciousness is Krsna consciousness because we are part and parcel of Krsna. When this consciousness is misguided and one is put into the material atmosphere, which pollutes the original conscio

A well-known speaker started off his public speech in a strange manner – by holding up a Rupee 1000 Note! Holding up the Note high in the air in one of his hands, he addressed the curious audience, "Who would like this Rupee 1000 Note?"

With great cheers almost all of them raised their hands with the shout, "I want it", "I want it”!! He said, "Oh! That’s nice. Well, I am going to give this Note to one of you... But, first let me do this." Then, he crumpled the Note in his hands vigorously & n

Take that first step

Every journey, however long it may be, begins with a single step. But you must take that first step. Once you do, each step takes you closer and closer to your goal.

Sometimes, when you consider taking on a new venture – whether it’s writing a book, beginning a new project, or anything else – the task can seem overwhelming. It’s as though you’ll never be able to arrive at your final destination, as if the first step isn’t going to help. When you look too far out toward the horizon, it can seem to

Hare Krishna Matajis and Prabhujis

Personally we are  all eternal part and parcel of Lord Radha Krishna.

The thought which comes to my mind sometimes as I am in Krishna consciousness is if I could become God.

I sincerely and seriously pray to Lord Radha Krishna please make me so humble that I always remember I am a servant of the servant of the servant of the maidservantsof Lord Radha Krishna.

Never I want to think of being Lord or God as I feel I am humilating Lord Radha Krishna by thinking this al

As pure as water from the sky

When it rains, the water that comes from the sky is crystal clear. But when it comes on to ground it becomes full of mud.  My question is what is the nature of water? Is it clear or is it muddy? It’s clear, but when it is mixed with other things then it appears muddy. In truth it is always pure. We simply have to separate what is water and what is not. That is the process of filtration. When we filter water, all of the dirt is in the filter and the water is again in its clear state, pure state.

How does the holy name purify us?

It is not that we are just chanting the holy names and therefore we are getting purified. We should understand how we are getting purified and why we are getting purified.Because Krishna is non different from his name, Krishna’s name has sweet will. It is not just a sound vibration. It is God who has incarnated in sound vibration. Because the name is Krishna, we cannot control the names, for the name is the supreme controller of all controllers. But when we are chanting in such a way that Krishn
