Question: Why 8,400,000 Species? |
||||
Why God has created 8,400,000 different species? |
||||
Answer: 8,400,000 Different Ways to Enjoy |
||||
God has created the 8,400,000 different species to facilitate the conditioned soul's desire to enjoy this material world. The illusioned living being tries in one way to enjoy and is not satisfied. Then he tries to enjoy in another way and is still not satisfied. Because he so much desires to enjoy this material world, Krishna kindly facilitates him by giv |
Partially explaining the position of Lord Kṛṣṇa and partially covering the facts, Gargamuni indicated, "Your son is a great personality, and He can change the color of His body in different ages." The word gṛhṇataḥ indicates that Kṛṣṇa is free to make His choice. In other words, He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and may therefore do whatever He desires. In Vedic literature the different colors assumed by the Personality of Godhead in differ
Not long ago we celebrated the appearance of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, but in these days devotees in various parts of the world celebrated the appearance of Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami, the great Vaishnava and disciple of the Srila pRbhupad. Instructions of his spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, are Gour Govinda Maharaja's life and soul. Srila Prabhupada ordered him to translate his books in Oriya language, which Maharaja ardently executed throughout his life. He was also successfu
TRANSLATION "My dear King, do not be agitated and anxious because your
sacrifices have not been properly executed due to providential
impediments. Kindly take my words with great respect. We should always
remember that if something happens by providential arrangement, we
should not be very sorry. The more we try to rectify such reversals,
the more we enter into the darkest region of materialistic thought."

meet with reversals in life. S
As soon the common central point of existence is removed the whole global social order begins to disintegrate. It deteriorates more and more until eventually there is nothing left of the human civilization. Therefore those who are both enlightened and compassionate fully dedicate their lives for ending the chaos by taking all risks of personal comfort and safety to widely propagate the ultimate self-realization science all over the world. It is in many ways a thankless task because such dedicate

Srila Prabhupada took his morning walk on the pathway running the length of St. Kilda Beach; along with him went his servant and secretary, the temple president and a couple of temple devotees, Hari-sauri and Dvaipayana. It was a particularly cold and blustery day, and Srila Prabhupada was wrapped in his heavy, grey chaddar.
Srila Prabhupada didn't speak at all, but just walked very briskly. When it was time to return to the temple, Prabhupada's car pull
Simply by associating with a pure devotee, one becomes wonderfully advanced in Krsna consciousness. Sadhu-sanga, or association with a devotee, means always engaging in Krsna consciousness by chanting the Hare Krsna mantra... but he whose heart is contaminated sees things differently. Therefore by sat-sanga, or association with devotees, one becomes perfectly pure in heart.

Hare Krsna! (2 part series)
Part 1:
When you think about your life, is there anything that is holding you back? All the great people of our time agree that the only person holding us back, is ourselves. What is it specifically that is blocking us?
There could be a variety of reasons, but the most likely stopper is our mind. Lord Krsna says in the Gita, that “For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest en
Richard (now Radhanath Swami) continued to be a wandering pilgrim; he wished to learn from many paths and teachers before he committed himself to one. He asked himself why he was leaving Maharshi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram. On three occasions Maharshi Mahesh yogi had appeared in Richard’s dream and Richard had enlightening spiritual experiences in this ashram. Yet he was leaving and moving from one place to another. As his search was getting intense, one can see his prayers becoming desperate.

On the 24th August 2011, more than 2500 devotees and members of the public took part in the Jaganatha Ratha Yatra festival organized by Caitanya Cultural Society in Singapore.
A huge 15-feet high silver ratha (made out of 4500kg of silver) was brought from the Perumal Temple and was initially meant to be used for the Ratha Yatra. However, owing to its height the Silver Ratha could not enter the Toa
Payoh stadium. With immense enthusiasm and within a few hours time the devotees made another Ratha
As far as the conditioned soul is concerned, there is no wonder that he has some sinful activities in his past life, and this should be admitted and confessed before the Lord. As soon as this is done, the Lord excuses the sincere devotee. But that does not mean that one should take advantage of the Lord’s causeless mercy and expect to be excused over and over again, while he commits the same sinful activities. NOD Page 81

"Bhakti, or devotional service, means engaging all our senses in the service of the Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the master of all the senses. When the spirit soul renders service unto the Supreme, there are two side effects. One is freed from all material designations, and one’s senses are purified simply by being employed in the service of the Lord." (Cc. Madhya 19.170)

means fault-finding and paarushyam means harsh speech. Krishna refers to these qualities asdemoniac qualities. When we are filled with pride,
arrogance, conceit and anger then automatically our speech is also harsh. Paarushyam or harsh speech causes great pain to others.
Dharma or duty should never be performed for material gain. But people do it so all the time. Still, the Bhagavatam is saying, “No, not for that purpose”. So, for what purpose? Bhagavatam says it is for apavarga. Srila Prabhupada very brilliantly and beautifully translates apavarga as ultimate liberation, making a distinction between the merging kind of liberation and vaisnava liberation, where one engages in service to Krishna eternally on the spiritual platform in the spiritual realm, or where

This is a story about how Srila Pabhupad instructed his disciple about cocoa contained in chocolates and inspired that disciple to get higher taste.
Prabhupad took under his care a small orphan boy. Among other services, this boy was given one service of buying vegetables from the market for Srila Prabhupad’s kitchen.
One day (specifically in the summer of year 1973) the boy bought some chocolates (cadbury and 5 star) using the left over money, instead of retur
