Radha's Mercy

In short, the theology of Sri Radha is deep. The scriptures describe that one must go through many lives of pious acts, religious rituals, and yogic perfection before attaining the mercy of Sri Radha. And when one does, Krishna is not far off. In fact, it is through Sri Radha's mercy that Krishna becomes attainable.

Radha is Krishna's mercy incarnation, and through Her one can attain the culmination of the spiritual pursuit. Srila Prabhupada sums this up as follows:

"Radharani, You ar

One day Srimati Radharani was crying so much that she started to feel that she could not do anything about how she can’t resist her love for Krishna and Krishna’s allurement and she so cried: what shall I do? I know I am unchaste and a woman should not be unchaste but I, I should actually give up my body. I should die. It’s more useless being alive. in this life. By the arrangement of providence I got marr

The aula-sampradaya, bala-sampradaya, and others invented their own ways of understanding Lord Chaitanya's philosophy, without following in the footsteps of the acaryas. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself indicates herein that all such attempts would simply spoil the spirit of his cult. (Caitanya-caritamrta madhya 1.271 purport.)

Often, some get the impression that Krishna is more inclined and partial towards girls than towards boys. Some come up with their imperfect conclusions that 'Krishna is for women'. Some are even baffled that how can a male fall in love with Krishna who is also a male. All these are material considerations. Love for Lord is totally on the spiritual platform, lying beyond the distinction between male and female. How Lord can be loved even while having a male body and how beautifully He reciprocate

Distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books as they are ki jay!!

Here is some sankirtan nectar: I was on my way back to the temple after distributing Srila Prabhupada's books at passing through the parking lot of the Greenacres shopping centre in Port Elizabeth. I approached a man standing next to one of those imported Japanese 4×4"s with a fancy looking trailer hooked-up to it. I introduced myself to him and presented Srila Prabhupada's books to him. He refused saying, that he did not read and that he

Bhagavad Gita quiz contest in Pakistan

At the time of religious intolerance in Pakistan, shlokas from Bhagavad Gita reverberated at a school in Karachi during a quiz competition to test the knowledge of Hindu boys and girls about their religion, leaving the minority community having something to cheer about.

For months now the Hindu community in Pakistan's southern Sindh province has been complaining of bias and injustice over the issues of kidnappings and forced conversions but for a change they

Determined Effort

Srila Prabhupada placed writing and publishing books as his highest priority knowing his followers would thus derive the greatest benefits. The Mayapur Institute (MI) now offers a 1½-year package beginning November 25, 2012, within which devotees can effectively tap these benefits and greatly increase their qualifications to advance by completing both the Bhakti-sastri and Bhaktivaibhava courses in the sanga of senior Vaisnavas.

The conditioned state of life means influence of material nature. When we are very much influenced by the material nature... We have already discussed: guna. Karanam guna-sango 'sya [Bg. 13.22]. Material nature means the three gunas, three material qualities: ignorance, passion and goodness. Goodness is better than the other two qualities, ignorance and passion. But mostly, especially in this age, they are conducted or influenced by the modes of ignorance and passion. People do not know what is

Looking for a Good Business?

Once, Srila Prabhupada was sitting on his terrace at Juhu in discussion with some guests maybe a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant, and an engineer. Suddenly Man Mohan, one of Srila Prabhupada's first initiated disciples in Bombay, arrived. Srila Prabhupada greeted him, "Oh, Man Mohan das, you have come! You are a businessman. Now our group is complete!" Man Mohan replied, "Srila Prabhupada, who is the businessman? Am I the businessman, or are you the businessman?" "Me

Rupa Goswami came on the order of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to rejuvenate and re-excavate the land of Vrindavan. The Six Goswamis were engaged in the service of Lord Chaitanya for preaching work.

Whatever we are preaching now, it is based on the principles laid down by the Six Goswamis. Narottama Das Thakur has sung,

LORD KRISHNA’S MERCY   (Episode from Mahabharata)

The Mahabharata war was about to begin.

The armies were taking up positions. The

elephants started marching.  Deafening

noise of conch shells warned of imminent

danger. The dust raised was so thick as to

eclipse the sun. A lapwing had built her

nest in a hillock close to the Kurukshetra

battlefield.  She was staying there with her

nestlings and was concerned for their safety.

She cried wildly and caught the attention

of Lord Krishna. Out of compassion for

Relative Truth Is Not Absolute Truth

(Compiled from notes on lectures of H. H. Mahavishnu Goswami)

I would like to share the wonderful points, which His Holiness Mahavishnu Gosvami Maharaja told us in his class on Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.1, in London, July 8, 2008.

Some people with a poor fund of knowledge reject the Vedas, considering them to be an outdated text left by some primitive men of the stone age. However, the knowledge of even the scholarly historians about world history is limited to only a few thousand years: naturally therefore, their opinions about the ancient Vedas are of no value. The fact is that the Vedas constitute a  complete wisdom handed over by God Himself at the dawn of ,hn rrpntion of the universe The Vedas are perfect: they are
