Some people with a poor fund of knowledge reject the Vedas, considering them to be an outdated text left by some primitive men of the stone age. However, the knowledge of even the scholarly historians about world history is limited to only a few thousand years: naturally therefore, their opinions about the ancient Vedas are of no value. The fact is that the Vedas constitute a complete wisdom handed over by God Himself at the dawn of ,hn rrpntion of the universe The Vedas are perfect: they are

Suppose you are sleeping in your apartment and a thief breaks in, with the intention of murdering you and stealing all your wealth. In such a moment of danger, which of the five senses is most likely to help you? You certainly cannot smell the thief, nor taste him with your tongue, nor feel him with your skin, nor see him with your eyes. But if the thief makes a noise, you might hear it, wake up and be able to save yourself. This is a simple experience that we can easily relate to. but it has m
The Vedas also make accurate predictions of incarnations or great personalities who will appear in the future. Some of the personalities predicted along with the text in which they are predicted are given below:
*Buddha {Shrimad Bhagavatam 1.3.24),
*Chanakya (Shrimad Bhagavatam 12.1.11),
•Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (Mahabharata Ml 92.15, Shrimad Bhagavatam 11.5.32)
• Chandragupta and Emperor Ashoka (Shrimad Bhagavatam 12.1.12)
• Jesus and Mohammed (Bhavishya Purana, Atharva Veda, Kanda 20, Shukta 127, 1-
We can cite innumerable instances from the Vedas, which illustrate concepts similar to concepts from modern science. Modern scientists are wonder-struck on seeing these striking similarities and they cannot even imagine how such great truths were written down at a time when there were no sophisticated instruments. A few examples showing similarities in the knowledge obtained from science and the Vedas are:

Therefore we are engaged in the service of maya in so many phases and different names. Somebody's serving country, somebody's serving society, somebody's serving family, office, this, that, so many. This is maya's service. Now, when we come to our senses, that "I am..., so long I was engaged in maya's service. Now I have to engage myself in Krsna's service," that is self-realization. That is described here that jnana-vairagya-yuktena. [SB 3.25.18] Jnana-vairagya. This is knowledge, that "I am se

In the tenth canto of Srimad Bhagavatam, we find that the demigods offer selected wonderful prayers to please Lord Krishna in the womb of Devaki mata. The following is the first of those prayers (SB 10.2.26) and it is a very beautiful prayer to recite and remember.

In the Fifth Canto of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, Sixth Chapter, 18th verse, Nārada says to Yudhisthira, “My dear King, it is Lord Krishna, known as Mukunda, who is the eternal protector of the Pāndavas and the Yadus. He is also your spiritual master and instructor in every respect. He is the only worshipable God for you. He is very dear and affectionate, and He is the director of all your activities, both individual and familia

There was one thief, one robber. He was robbing businessmen and murdering
people, and then one day he heard that the king of the country of the country
had invited all the sannyasis, sadhus and ascetics for a big meeting. The thief
was thinking, "Maybe the king will be giving help to them, so I will see if I
can rob someone and get some money." So he went to the meeting and hid himself

BHAGWAN SRI KRISHNA IN MY WALLET
A small but touching story with a deep message.
A ticket collector in a train found an old worn out wallet in a compartment full of many people. He looked inside to find the name of its owner. There was no clue. All that there was in it, was some money and a picture of Bhagwan Sri Krishna. He held it up and asked, 'Who does this wallet belong to?'
An old man said, 'That's my wallet, please give it to me.' The ticket collector said, 'You'll have to prove that it is y

Chowpatti (Mumbai) Book Distribution
"I had heard this one before. Not wanting to waste any more time with him, I left hurrying to catch up with the other devotees of the Gaur Nitai Harinam party". Rakshit Shetty Prabhu, a regular member of this fired up group, doing Harinaam Sankirtan all over Mumbai, witnessed this event as his convictions about book distribution became stronger.
"I am sorry, I don't have any change. Actually I want to buy a book but unfortunately I…", these are standard excuses
Self-realization means to see one's proper identity. At the present moment we are not finding out our proper identity. We are seeing to the body. I see you, your body, and you see me, my body. We have no vision of the real person, which is, who is occupying this body. This is the first lesson we get from Bhagavad-gita: dehino 'smin yatha dehe [Bg. 2.13]. Dehi... This body is called deha, and the owner of the body is called dehi. So

People often demand ‘Show me God, and I will believe in Him’. As Srila Prabhupada often said, "God is present everywhere, but we do not have the eyes to see Him." In Bhagavad gita Krishna tells in five illuminating verses 7.8-12 at least 15 places where we can see Krishna. In Rajkot last year (2006), our spirit

Although God has given us all facilities to live peacefully on this earth, cultivate Krsna consciousness, and finally to come to Him, in this age we're unfortunate. We are short-lived, and there are so many people without food, shelter, married life or defense from the onslaughts of nature. This is due to the influence of this age of Kali. Therefore Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, seeing the dreadful situation in this age, emphasized the absolute necessity for cultivating spiritual life. And how sh
