Thought Of The Day

So in our, this human form of life we should be very careful, and what is ordered that "You should do like this..." Just like if you go to a medical man, so if you are diseased, a medical man, physician, will give you a prescription that "You take this medicine, and you do not take this kind of food. You can take this kind of food." Ahara-pathya. So if you want to cure your material disease, then two things are required: the medicine and the food. It is called pathya. The proper food and proper

Illusion of Progress

What is “progress”? A dog’s jumping is progress? A dog is running here and there on four legs, and you are running on four wheels. Is that progress?

The Vedic system is this: The human being has a certain amount of energy better energy than the

Dhruva’s determiantion

Determination is what separates a man from an animal. Animals act as per their instincts without bothering much about the consequences whilst the humans have the ability to contemplate on the outcome before any action. As humans we constantly endeavour to better our life. However due to lack of determination our attempts does not bring the desired result. Success is guaranteed if we sincerely try to achieve a goal following the directives of the revealed Vedic literatures

-          Oh yes, she is doing very well in her studies. All teachers love her…

For my surprise and amazement my dad replied with this to the question of his friend.

I was 8 years old, a first grade graduate from school. Because of my enough better studies teachers gifted to me few small books, around 1 centimeter in width, with stories at the end of the year. And after that we had 3 months Summer holidays. When they gave me books they told me to read them…so I tried my best.

Everyday I used

What Kills Material Illusion?

What is Material Illusion? When you use too much of I, My, Mine; when you consider yourself responsible for your success or failure; when you find more pleasure in your electronic gadgets than in the Lord; when you sometimes feel miserable and the other times happy, my friend, you must know that you are a victim of material illusion. The only solution to it being Krishna Consciousness or God-Consciousness.

Thought Of The Day

So we cannot declare independence. That is not possible. There is no independence. We are completely dependent on Visnu. There is no doubt about it. You cannot manufacture your necessities, all the necessities. You can manufacture some motorcar or some needle or this or that, but you cannot manufacture the primary necessities of life. That is not possible. When there is scarcity of food, you cannot manufacture in your factory. That is not possible. That you have to receive from Visnu, from God.

Be Receptive

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

“Receptive” implies being open to ideas and suggestions.

It means you are inclined and willing to receive whatever it is that you need at that moment – data, creativity, a new idea, or whatever. It’s the opposite of being closed minded and stubborn.

People who are receptive are willing to have a “beginner’s mind,” the willingness to learn, even if they are considered the expert. Because they are not defensive, these peop

Thought Of The Day

But unfortunately, being misguided, instead of serving Krsna, we are serving so many other things. Somebody is serving his family. Somebody is serving his country. Somebody is serving his dog. In this way, service is there -- but the service is misplaced. Therefore we are not satisfied. Why in the material world people are not satisfied? Because his position is to serve Krsna. He is serving maya; therefore he is not happy. Plain thing. Krsna says, mamaivamso jiva-bhutah: [Bg. 15.7] "Jiva, the li

The Step Taken

Krishna, the All-attractive One, the only object of love in existence, is attracted towards love. Keats had said, “Beauty is truth, truth beauty…” If a poet through his imagination could arrive at such a conclusion of reality, it is only stunningly unimaginable how beautiful the real ‘Reality’ would be. No wonder then, that Krishna is wondrously attracted towards His own beauty. Truth and beauty are synonymously interspersed within what we call love. There is no truth higher than love, and there
