Thought Of The Day

We are all sadhus, actually, originally, because we are part and parcel of Krsna, but in contact with maya, we have become asadhu. Sadhu means who are pure devotees. Bhajate mam ananya-bhak. That is sadhu. Otherwise there is no sadhu. The so-called sadhu, they are not sadhu. Sadhu means bhajate mam ananya-bhak. Sadhur eva sa mantavyah, bhajate mam ananya-bhak [Bg. 9.30]. So by chanting this Hare Krsna mantra, even the lowest of the mankind, naradhama, he can become a sadhu.

(From Book Jaiva Dharma) - Types of Karma

Hare Krishna -

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Krishna and to all of his pure devotees and aspiring devotees.

“The jiva who is bewildered by mäyä is first compelled to adopt the path of karma; then he must adopt karma-yoga, followed by jnana-yoga, and finally bhakti-yoga. However, if he is not shown that all these are but different steps on the one staircase, the conditioned jiva cannot ascend to the temple of bhakti.

“What does it mean to adopt the path of karma? Kar

Krishna (r) with Balarama (l)

Krishna (r) with Balarama

It is a completely mistaken idea that one can worship Krishna in any form or in any way and still attain the ultimate result of receiving the favor of the Lord. This is a decision made by gross materialists. Generally such men say that you can manufacture your own way of worshiping the Supreme Lord and that any type of worship is sufficient

Be grateful .......................Nectarean Mellows

The great Vaishnavas, whether there is danger or not, they are always in this mood of not demanding from Krishna but just pleading to Krishna - how can I serve you, how can I please you, I’m all yours; and in dealing with other devotees in that mood too. That is a great Vaishnava. Neophyte devotees, they require very serious tragedies to wake them up, but we should cultivate ‘taking Krishna’s ble

Thought Of The Day

Master is one, Krsna. There cannot be two masters. The master can expand Himself as masters. That is another thing. The master is one. Advaitam acyutam anadim ananta-rupam [Bs. 5.33]. Ananta-rupam. The master can expand Himself in many, many thousands and millions of forms, but they are advaita. They are not different. So there are different types of expansion of Krsna. They are called vibhinnamsa, svamsa. Krsna expands Himself svamsa. That is Visnu-tattva. That is advaitam acyutam anadim ananta

Every society that thinks about sustainability will agree to the fact that continuity has a lot more to cover than just Eco-culture, recycling, administration etc.

It is in this light that we have dedicated a wing of our administration to actually ‘energize’ a vital factor to the sustenance of our movement ‘The youth’.

More so, to keep the youth abreast of developments geared at them we have decided to bring to light some salient issues we discoursed with Manorama Prabhu in an interview.

On the 4th of February, in 1976, Srila Prabhupada sent a letter to Sravanananda and Bhava Bhuti prabhu expressing his desire to have a temple in Madras. He said, “In Madras we have to construct a very gorgeous temple…... Now immediately find out some land and begin the construction. Never mind what the cost will be. We are not concerned with the amount of money, but we want a very attractive temple.”

Years later, devotees built the “gorgeous” temple Srila Prabhupada wanted and as a result thousan

Oh My God

2514903717?profile=original
The Bollywood Movie Oh My God! fittingly exposed the arrogance and hypocrisy of godmen. It also made several important points about specific religious practices as well as the generic role of religion in society. Oh My God! Re-answering the Questions responds to those points through thirty-two question-answers like:

• Do we need middlemen to approach God?
• Does God help atheists and oppose godmen?
• Is religion made by man or by God?
• When we don't chant "Papa, Papa", why should we chant "K

Navina Nirada Dasa

Navina Nirada Dasa

IN TODAY'S MATERIALISTIC world, to interest people in Krsna consciousness is difficult. Devotees who perform the spiritual service of offering others books about Krsna often meet with rejection and indifference. When a guest once asked Srila Prabhupada how his disciples dealt with such negativity, he replied that they were not fickle; they could persevere because they understood the ultimate value of their work.

Fortunately, devotees often see the results of their work, such a

Lavangalatika Devi Dasi

In pre-glasnost days a veteran book distributor
finds a way to get Bhagavad-gita As It Is to the Russians.

After going through immigration at the Agosto de Sandino Aeropuerto at Managua. I stood in line to purchase $60 worth of cordovas (the local currency), which is required for anyone entering the city. Having been told, inaccurately, that everything is inexpensive in Nicaragua, I had brought only $200 in cash with me.

More important, I had two hundred copies of the Russian translation ofB
