Hare Krishna.I have never believed in coincidences nor took too much notice of them ever in my life. But to my surprise I have found myself increasingly taking more hints than ever in my life. I wrote in brief about it in my earlier blog on Parmatama a few days back. I am sharing the latest incident which happened on 19th Oct which made me share it again on this topic.I am quite dunce, more so in taking hints and my wife can share a long list on this topic. Over the last one year I have been gett

Dancing in front of Deities

Hare Krishna,In my initial years I used to wonder why, or even how, devotees dance after the morning Guru puja. I would place them as sentimental devotees, priding myself as the one who is here for the serious knowledge. I still remember, at Punjabi Bagh temple, some devotee would try to pull me in and I would reply with a lame shrug. Of course, I never danced in my whole life, was an introvert and on top of it I am gifted with two left feet.Bewildered, one day I finally asked one senior devotee

Lectures with deep philosophy

Hare Krishna.Till now, I would always `judge' devotees based on how they would give lectures. Similarly when some `simple' lecture would be going on I would get impatient and would pray that Prabhu ji will soon discuss something important or `deep'. It is only recently that I realised how foolish I was, or rather I am, that most of the time the limitation is not with the speaker but with the listeners. An intelligent speaker always see who is the general audience, he then speaks according to wha

Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: You can do the best to train your child to become Krsna conscious. That is in your power. That you can do. That is the best service, not anything else. That is not possible. If you become yourself Krsna conscious, and if you try to make your son Krsna conscious, that you can do. And that is the duty, real duty. Other things, you cannot do anything. That is destiny. And if you make him Krsna conscious, then destiny can also be changed. This is the concession of Krsna consciousness. De

Struggle with Sex Desire

Transcription By: Shalini Ahaluwalia Mataji

Edited By: Murlidhar Prabhu (Murli Thundi)

Question: If bhakti gives us higher taste which makes lower pleasures insignificant then why do sometimes even senior devotees struggle with sex desire?

Answer:  There can be many reasons for this. First of all, sex desire is a very deep-rooted desire and it takes time to get purified of that desire. It’s not just a desire of this lifetime but has been going on for many, many lifetimes. Th

Fund-raising and Friend-raising

2514930155?profile=original

By His Holiness Sridhar Swami

There is a saying that if you have to do something, there is two ways that you can do it. One is in an organized way and the other is in a disorganized way. Now, if you do things in a disorganized way, you may not get such good results, but if you have a plan, if you have a system, a technique, a method, the chances are that you will get better results. This is common sense.

As an institution, we are not that old. In fact, we are still in diapers practically. Still “

GOD NEVER RETIRES

God Retires! A presumptuous headline beamed through all the major dailies of India in Oct. The occasion was the retirement of Sachin Tendulkar, one of the most celebrated cricketers of modern times. His fans eulogized him: “Cricket is my religion and Sachin is my God”.

It showcases the illiteracy which has penetrated in Indian society about God and religion. It seems that Indians have forgotten the meaning of God and religion. Considered to be the holiest place on earth; people from all over the
