Yogamaya Curtains the Lord

The Lord is not approachable by everyone because He is curtained by His yogamaya potency. But one should not wrongly conclude that the Lord was formerly unmanifested and has now manifested Himself in the human form. This misconception of the formlessness of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is due to the yogamaya curtain of the Lord and can be removed only by the supreme will, as soon as the conditioned soul surrenders unto Him. (SB 2. 5. 20p)

The reason is that the Lord reserves the right of no

The Lord exchanges transcendental relations in five ways, as proprietor, master, friend, son and lover , and in each of these pastimes He plays fully by the potency of yogamaya, the internal potency. (SB 1. 11. 39p)

When the Lord, however, appears in His person as Lord Sri Krishna, His other plenary portions also join in Him by His inconceivable potency called yogamaya, and thus the Lord Krishna of Vrindavana is different from the Lord Krishna of Mathura or the Lord Krishna of Dvaraka. (SB 1. 14.

Yogamaya and Mahamaya are one and different

The energy of the Lord called avidya is the bewildering fact or of the conditioned souls. The material nature is called avidya, or ignorance, but to the devotees of the Lord engaged in pure devotional service, this energy becomes vidya, or pure knowledge. This is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita. The energy of the Lord transforms from mahamaya to yogamaya and appears to pure devotees in her real feature. (SB 3. 10. 17p)

The Supreme Lord has two energies, material and spiritual. The living entities are

Kamsa dispatches Akrura to bring Krishna Balram from Vrindavan.

                                                                            ----- By Veerendra Ekbote

As the title suggests there are 4 personalities involved in this story.

The first character involved in this story is the demon-king Kamsa who is illegally ruling the kingdom of Mathura after usurping the throne from his father Ugrasena. Since he is Devaki’s brother he is also the maternal uncle of Krishna and Balra

The Kumara Sampradaya

"Brahmaji wanted to create the whole cosmic situation as it was in the previous millennium, and because, in the last devastation, knowledge of the Absolute Truth was altogether erased from the universe, he desired that the same knowledge again be renovated; otherwise there would be no meaning in the creation. Because transcendental knowledge is a prime necessity, the ever-conditioned souls are given a chance for liberation in every millennium of creation.

This mission of Brahmaji was fulfilled by

The Siva Sampradaya

"Lord Siva is described here as caracara-guru, the spiritual master of all animate and inanimate objects. He is sometimes known as Bhutanatha, which means "the worshipable deity of the dull-headed." Bhuta is also sometimes taken to indicate the ghosts. Lord Siva takes charge of reforming persons who are ghosts and demons, not to speak of others, who are godly; therefore he is the spiritual master of everyone, both the dull and demoniac and the highly learned Vaisnavas. It is also stated, vaisnav

The Laksmi Sampradaya

"The Ramanuja-sampradaya, they are called Sri-sampradaya. They worship Laksmi-Narayana. Everyone worships the Lord and His potency, spiritual potency. Just like we worship Radha-Krsna, similarly, the Ramanuja-sampradaya, they worship Laksmi-Narayana or Sita-Rama. So we should follow the sampradaya. Sampradaya - vihina ye mantras te viphala matah."
Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam, 02-25-76, Mayapur

"Thus Krsna should not be thought of as being alone but should be considered as eterna

The Brahma Sampradaya

"Brahma is mahajana. Or there are twelve, twelve mahajanas stated in the sastras, and Brahma is one of them. Svayambhu. Brahma's name is Svayambhu. The other day we were discussing Svayambhu. Or Atmabhu. Atmabhu. Because he is born out of the abdomen of the father, not of the mother. ...Father is the seed-giving, life-giving agent. So this life was not transferred to anyone else to take the body. The life-giver, father, gave him the body. Therefore Brahma is called Svayambhu."

The Mayavada School

"The Mayavadis say that the world created by maya is false, and that actually there is no living entity but only one spiritual effulgence. They further say that God is imaginary, that people think of God only because of ignorance, and that when the Supreme Absolute Truth is befooled by the external energy, maya, He becomes a jiva, or living entity. Upon hearing all these nonsensical ideas from the nondevotee, a devotee is greatly afflicted, as if his heart and soul were broken."

Srila Prabhupada had difficulty sleeping this past night, because of the disturbance from different sounds during my shift.  I received a report from Jayapataka Swami, and knowing Srila Prabhupada was eager to hear about Mayapur, I read the letter to him.  We were asked to leave Bangladesh because of the Mayapur incident.

Prabhavisnu Prabhu, who was in charge of the Dacca preaching, brought the letter.  He came to see Sr

Prabhupada desired to taste South Indian-style cooking.  Abhirama's wife had made iddli previously, but they had been hard, like stone.  So Prabhupada asked that Palika come for a few days.  After lunch, however, Srila Prabhupada said, "There is no need to call her.  I have no taste, so what is the use?"

In the afternoon, Prabhupada called me and Srila Prabhupada said, "I was very happy when you dropped Palika.  Now you

14-Feb-2014 - Appearance Day of Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura
Appearing as the son of a king, Shri Narottama Dasa Thakura (Shri Thakura Mahasaya) showed all the bodily symptoms of a mahapurusha (an exalted divine person). He had long arms, a deep navel, golden-complexion, beautiful eyes shaped like the lotus petals. In school, he was a sruti dhara (able to memorize whatever he hears) Although he quickly mastered Sanskrit

Form of Hari In Mayapur (One of the 24 forms of Vishnu)

In the spiritual sky all the planets dominated by the Narayana feature are eternal. The topmost planet in the spiritual sky is called Krsnaloka and is divided into three different portions: Gokula, Mathura and Dvaraka. In the Mathura portion, the form of Kesava is always situated. He is also represented on this earthly planet. In Mathura, India, the Kesava murti i

This morning when Prabhupada awoke, I sat behind him on the bed, lightly massaging his back.  Then I asked, "Srila Prabhupada, what have you been thinking of the past few days?"

Prabhupada understood my question perfectly and replied, "I have been thinking that if I have to live for six months, until February, 1978, why not die now?  Pariksit Maharaja had only seven days."

"But the astrologer said you could live beyond t

When rabbits are being attacked by bigger animals, they close their eyes and think, "I am not going to be killed." But they are killed anyway. Similarly, we may deny the existence of God and the law of God, but still God and His law are there. In the high-court you may say, "I don't care for the law of the government," but you will be forced to accept the government law. If you deny the state law, then you will be put i
