The “World Holy Name Festival,” commemorating the September 17th arrival of Srila Prabhupada in America on September 17, 1965, will be marked by devotees worldwide on September 17-23, 2023. This expression of gratitude to ISKCON’s Founder-Acarya is organized by ISKCON’s Kirtan Ministry, headed by Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami, Jagannatha Kirtananda Das, and Dinanukampa Devi Dasi.

After World Holy Name Day was established in 1996 in honor of Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial celebrations, World Holy Name Week followed in 2008 and has been held annually ever since, with public Harinama Sankirtan, 12 and 24 hour kirtans, japathons and Holy Name-themed seminars.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the traditional methods of sharing the Holy Name are severely restricted. Thus the newly dubbed World Holy Name Festival, organized by the ISKCON Kirtan Minis
On the occasion of World Holy Name Festival, ISKCON Rohini organized an Interfaith dialogue on Glories of Holy Names on 23rd Sept 2019.
Srila Prabhupada’s greatest desire was to spread the chanting of the Holy Names all over the world. To fulfill this desire, Governing Body Commission (GBC) of ISKCON established World Holy Name Day to commemorate Srila Prabhupada Arrival anniversary to the west, during Srila Prabupada’s Centennial in 1996. World Holy Name Day, along with many other Centennial programs was a tremendous success.
