2514943865?profile=original

By H.G. Racitambara dasi

One evening, Ramesvara prabhu called us all into the temple room for an emergency istagosthi and told us that Srila Prabhupada was in Hawaii but he was very, very ill and he was coming to Los Angeles that night; but no one should go to the airport and greet him, we should be very quiet around the temple and no one should try to ask for darsanas or anything like that. Prabhupada was ill and he was coming to rest, we wouldn’t see him at all. At the end he asked for question

365 steps towards perfection

Suppose that we invest our hard earned money in a company’s share which promises to give a very high return at the end of the year. But we find that throughout the year the market value of the share keeps depreciating and at the end of the year we have lost all our money. Next year the same company again launches a new scheme and asks us to purchase its share. How many of us would ever think of buying the share from the same company again? Probably no one because the company would have lost its

We can change the world

2514944376?profile=originalBy His Holiness Kadamba Kanana Swami

We should develop different ways to engage people in chanting the holy name, in reading Srila Prabhupa

The economic downturn being experienced by the Indian economy is bottoming out.

The political and economic leadership is reposing its trust in the potential of corporate India as well as the locked value in our state owned enterprises (maharatnas, navratnas and miniratnas). India is on its way to regain its glory of 7-8 percent GDP growth and nothing can stop the Indian economy from becoming the 3rd or 4th largest in GDP terms soon, said P Chidambaram, Union Finance Minister, while deliver

A Taste of Salted Bread

The following excerpts are from Sarvabhavana Dasa's book Salted Bread, which focuses on how he and his friend Sachisuta Dasa served Lord Krishna and spread His teachings in the Soviet Union. The book emphasizes Sachisuta's dedication and subsequent imprisonment. These excerpts, drawn from most of the chapters in Salted Bread, were selected by BTG Associate Editor Urmil

WHEN THE TONGUE IS CONSIDERED A PROSTITUTE

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

By His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Devotees Chanting Hare Krishna in a Street Procession in Florence

Asatī means a woman who has become a prostitute. A prostitute has no reputation for good womanly qualities. Similarly, the tongue, which is given to the human being for chanting the Vedic hymns, will be considered a prostitute if it is engaged in the matter of chanting some mundane nonsense.” [SB 2.3.
