After last years success in contributing towards 50 padyatra’s worldwide as part of the ISKCON50 campaign, ISKCON London agreed to help in continuing this program as an addition to the already vibrant festival season in the UK.
This year’s vision was that by organising a Padyatra event and walking between two of our satellite centres we could bring together the devotees from this region for an offering to Guru and Gauranga in an alternative yet highly traditional presentation

Srutidharma das and Parasuram das had a meeting with Radhapriye ji of Barsna who is part of the team heading the Save Yamuna Campaign. The Save yamuna campaign is trying to bring Yamuna back to Vrindavan, which is the most important river for all worshippers of Krishna.
Did you know that Yamuna River disappears after Hathani Kund Barrage in Haryana?
97% water of Yamuna river is sucked in by canals just before Hathani Kund barrage. Rest evaporates after running few kilometers.

In recent decades we witness increasing public awareness about the profoundly damaging effects of accellerating human production, consumption, and mobility on ecosystems of the world; and this awareness is accompanied by a deepening sense of urgency that “something” must be done to stop the current trends of environmental destruction. Environmental activism is now a mainstream activity for all sorts of individuals and groups, not least perso
Janmastami, the most auspicious appearance day of the original Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna is almost upon us. This particular appearance of Lord Krishna, which takes place once in a day of Lord Brahma, is of very special importance because it is followed by the appearance of His combined avatar form of Radha and Krishna, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
Lord Krishna comes to annihilate the miscreants and re-establish the principles of religion, and teaches surrender as the means of
Good news , we are starting Mridanga Teaching in most traditional style, right from basic to the advance by Bablu Master .
Bablu Master born in 1967, in Godrumadwip , brought up in a very traditional Bengali vaishnava culture. He started his learning of Mridanga from age of 5, from various experts. When his mridanga education was completed then he started teaching in Mayapur Gurukula under of HH Bhakti Vidyapurna swami Maharaja for 12 years. After that he was teaching in vrindavan Gurukula for
Srila Prabhupada said that the highest placed vaisnava in West Bengal was Tarun Kanti Ghosh. He was elected as a member of parliament and was very popular. Tarun Kanti Ghosh owned several newspapers and was a very influential personality. He became elected in parliament by doing harinama sankirtan in all the villages, all over Bengal.
So in my days in Mayapur, I became acquainted with Tarun Kanti Ghosh. He had a house and in the garden, there was a nice temple with large Gaura-Nitai deities. He
Generally people who are not so lucky are called hapless or snakebitten (snakebit). In India it is considered very inauspicious for a snake to appear in one's dreams. But what if there is a Snake that comes to our aide? A Snake that is not only the origin of all snakes but of all creations too and holds the whole creation on His innumerable hoods in the form of Ananta Sesha. Then the hapless become lucky, worries disappears, sorrows turn into Joy, the weak becomes strong. All that we have to

There are various kinds of yoga; such as karma-yoga, based on purifying our activities; Jnana-yoga, based on acquiring spiritual knowledge and insight; Raja-yoga, the mystical yoga system; and Bhakti-yoga, attaining union with God through love and devotion. From these yoga systems, additional systems have also developed. But these four basic forms of yoga are all discussed in the primary and essential Vedic text of the Bhagavad-gita. But out of all of th
The Canterbury Cathedral and the English countryside where the Padayatra started.
Devotees from ISKCON-London along with Mahavishnu Swami are leading a five-day Padayatra which started on Monday 17th July, walking 40 miles from Canterbury to Folkestone, following on from the success of last year's Padayatra which was in honour of ISKCON's 50th Anniversary.
The group of devotees are leading a lively and uplifting procession of music, food, philosophy, dance and a ‘temple on wheels’ through the

It can be a challenge to maintain your dignity sometimes. I remember when I became a Krishna monk many years ago and donned the orange robes to venture forth on to the streets. Hare Krishna devotees were not a familiar sight at the time, and we would often encounter a spirited response from onlookers, as we sang and danced our way along the road. On one occasion I was showered with a can of beer, and it took strong resolve on my part to keep my composure.
It’s much better these days. I can’t re
Today we placed the Planetarium Dome Chakra onto the Kalash for a second test run to insure proper mounting, along with the a special flag pole and test flag. Both items are now aligned and ready for the future permanent installation.
The flag is 5 meters (16 feet) in length. Sadbhuja initially thought this might be too big, but after raising the flag and viewing it from a distance it is clearly the perfect size. The reason for the flag is to allow us to change it regularly for various purposes
Another Kirtan Mela rumbled, already the fifth! Again, it was a tremendous feast of the celebration of the Holy Name and the magnificent feast of bhakti. Sweet kirtan Aditi duhkha hee Prabhu, Vaishnava prana Maladhary, Mukunda, Vishnu-tattva, Krishna creeps, Abhay Chaitanya, Rasa-lila gets carried away beyond the material creation, far, far away, in a wonderful country where the holiday never ends Where the inhabitants do not know about the separation, Where the inhabitants are unaware of sadn
– Bada Hari, what does chanting of holy names mean for you? What inspires you?
– For us chanting means chanting the maha-mantra. In this modern age the method of self-realization, God-realization, which means to awaken love for God, is to chant the holy names. Lord Chaitanya, who is Krishna Himself, has appeared in this age and has recommended the names of God in the particular form of maha-mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/ Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
Dear Maharaj’s and Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
This is an appeal for your help for Prabhupada’s Vrndavana Samadhi Project. This year, somehow the donation level has fallen below normal.
For the first time in 17 years, I had to break a small Fixed Deposit to put in the working account. More than that, we must re-seal the dome after 25 monsoons, to ensure no leaking or concomitant structural damage. Removing the grouting on all the dome tiles from

Film Review: Hare Krishna! the Mantra, the Movement and the Swami Who Started it All
4.5 out of 5 Stars
A handful of critics have panned Hare Krishna! for being no more than a marketing tool for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness [ISKCON], otherwise known as The Hare Krishna Movement.
And one may argue that its glaring fault is that it fails to examine the problems the movement has faced since its founder, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, left his physical bod
e would like to welcome you to our 13th anniversary celebration of Sri kñetra parikrama. This year the parikrama day falls on 9th November. On this day, devotees will circumambulate the entire Sri Ksetra dhama, a distance of around 19 Km. This parikrama has been performed since the time Vidyapati visited Sri Ksetra. ISKCON has been organizing this parikrama for the last twelve years, on the specific day prescribed for parikrama as per the scriptures. Last year we had ten thousand devotees parti

Kamsa was stricken with fear. He waited so many years for the 8th child to be born. All his moments were taken up, anticipating the arrival of Krishna. His fear had gone to that extent where he thought of killing his own sister instead of waiting. It was his natural option but he completely refrained from it. He felt the consequences would be too severe. In the pages of history, we see such carnage where
