The ISKCON Ministry for Cow Protection and Agriculture (IMCPA) is busy bringing Krishna conscious farm projects around the world together to share best practices in a series of regional conferences. They hope to hold gatherings in six continents by 2020, culminating in a global summit.

But first, the longest running conference – the European Farm Conference – will hold its eleventh annual meeting in Karuna Bhavan, Scotland, on the weekend of September 7thto 9th.

I am really fortunate because rains have been in abundance, more than usual. It has left everything very green.  Locals say, “It is usually dry at this time.”

The village of Romanacos is approximately seven kilometres from the farm, Vrajamandala. A kind person, Vishnu Dharma, drove us to the top of the hill, right to the site of the village.  There sits an old church from the 16thcentury. A tiny snake seemed to take refuge in the area.  He shared the road with us—Nir, Julan and Lyla.     https

Two days after my birthday was my fathers’, or June 24th. Dear reader, I am indebted to you for taking the time to read this, and to think about your own relationship with your parents. What does it tell you about the natur

A Small Strip of Spain

2515253323?profile=original
By Bhaktimarga Swami

Alberto, an Italian-born devotee of Krishna, was right there at the Madrid Airport waiting to drive me for a one-hour stretch to the peaceful Spanish countryside at the retreat farm of Vrajamandala.  Residents number thirty.  There are six children of school age, five cows, one ox and a recently born, five-day-old bull, Baladeva.

The river, Tajuña, runs through the 350 acre property.  It was irresistible to walk from the town of Guadalajara (not the big city) of modest

Meeting with Book Distributors

2515253372?profile=original

By Giriraj Swami

we were blessed with the association of seven stalwart brahmachari book distributors who are following the Warped music tour. They arrived the night before, attended our entire morning program, and then, after breakfast, we discussed various aspects of the practice and preaching of Krishna consciousness. These devotees are extending Srila Prabhupada and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s mercy to many, many fortunate fallen souls.

Hare Krishna.

The Invasion by Bhaktimarga Swami

It is one of those days where I cannot sulk, but be a trifle sad about not walking.  The air travel restricts the possibility.  I flew in from Calgary this morning.  By 3:15 a.m., I was off to the airport for a flight to Madrid to meet up with the Cuban connection, that is those who were or are affiliated with our mission there.

In the moments of waiting for Air Canada Flight 863 to call for passengers to get ready for boarding, I contemplated those appalling photos I had viewed from a recent

In Glorification of Yamaraja Prabhu

By Krishna-kripa Das

Yamaraja Dasa, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada who served BTG for decades and left his body a few days back, was a great soul. I wrote a letter thanking him for how he benefited me and our ISKCON society in general. Shri-Ram Poddar gave the letter to Punya Kirti Prabhu, who read it to Yamaraja the day before he left. Punya Kirti said upon hearing it, Yamaraja Prabhu smiled. I shared the letter with my Facebook friends to glorify him, and because many people liked it, I decid

Important Kirtan Points

2515253318?profile=original

Hare Krishna, everyone! I’m BB Govinda Swami and I’m visiting Bhaktivedanta Manor and I was requested to give a brief interview for Kirtan Space. I was requested to speak on important points, points that I feel are important about kirtan.
Naturally I feel that since it’s the process of Mantra meditation, or meditation upon Krishna, we should really be focused when we are participating in kirtan. Whether one is leading the kirtan, whether one is playing the karatals, whether one is playing the m

What is the matter with the world

By A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

On the 16th of February 1957 a meeting was held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to discuss the above subject matter. Distinguished gentlemen from different categories spoke on the subject, but practically nobody could give us a definite direction as to what actually the matter was that was troubling the whole situation. This feeling of pinching in the existence of our life is a good sign for progress. It is an urge for enquiry what is the wrong in the world

Transcendental Cruise by Ramai Swami

2515253431?profile=original

Disciples of Vedavyasapriya Maharaja organised a boat cruise for the devotees. I was also invited and more the 170 devotees booked on the boat named “The Lady” which left from Southport Marina on the Gold Coast.

The cruise, which lasted four hours, went up and down an inlet between Stradbroke Island and the mainland. The whole time was spent in kirtana, readings and wonderful prasadam prepared by Maharaja’s disciples.

Gaurachandra and Vani Priya are my usual co-walkers in the North East of Calgary.  With much rainfall in recent days, the mosquitoes can form clouds.  Well, they did that for us while we were in our stride. The presence of magpies was also so evident.  You wonder if while in flight they couldn’t just keep their beaks open and swallow a few mosquitoes in the process?

Nanda Gopal had invited me over for brunch.  “It will just be some steamed veggies,” was the promise. It was simply a well-mean

Vrajanatha – What is the final destination of those who worship Sri Gauranga?

Raghunatha dasa Babaji – “Sri Krishna and Sri Gauranga are non-different in terms of tattva; they are the same Absolute Truth and both are the fountainheads of madhura-rasa, nectarean, honey-like mellows. However, there are two ways in which madhura-rasa manifests: madhurya, transcendental conjugal sweetness; and audarya, transcendental magnanimity. When madhurya is pre-eminent, Sri Krishna is manifest, and when auda

Outing in Edmonton

2515251890?profile=original
By Bhaktimarga Swami
For years I’ve been conducting satsangs or home programs which feature kirtan, talks and Prasadand often walking to the place of action.  Ananda is an excellent tabla player who accompanied me on 34thStreet in Edmonton.  The sky was a grey-blue, the hue that let us know it’s not going to stay.  A partial rainbow, meaning not fully-arched to our vision, made an appearance in that sky.

Generally these satsangs occur in the evening and are culminated with a meal.  However, up

We understand Krishna by the grace of Krishna’s devotees. We cannot approach Krishna directly. It is by His own sweet will that He has arranged. Krishna wants to give credit to His devotees, He wants to bestow His mercy through His devotees. It is only through the mercy of Vaisnavas that we can understand what is Krishna, what is the Holy name, what is Vrindavana, what is the purpose of life beyond just greed and egoism.

I would like to briefly narrate a few personal encounters in my life in re

HH Jayapataka Swami Health Update

Homebase: Sridhama Mayapur

Camp: Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai

By Srila Prabhupada’s and the Lord’s mercy and with your and all the devotees’ prayers, I survived the stroke. Then, they found that when I was attacked in Madrid Airport by a crazy person in 1989, they had given me a blood transfusion to make up for the lost blood and that contained Hepatitis C virus. They postulated that the virus was from there because when they did the genetic workup of the virus, it was found to be a

Caturatma das: I have been asked to inform the Vaishnava community of the sad news of the departure from this earthly realm of Yamaraja dasa. Yamaraja dasa was the renowned ISKCON photographer and layout artist, design artist and proof reader of Back To Godhead for decades. He left this world this morning, Friday June the 22nd during the brahma muhurta time listening to Srila Prabhupada chanting japa. His departure was expected as he was in the final stages of cancer. Red Wings by Bhaktimarga Swami

2515252783?profile=original
After a dental visit, Nanda took me to a park, Chinguacousy, and I sat to write  by the pond. To the surprise of both of us, this red-winged black bird came darting at us.  “Oh Krishna!”  It must have been its nesting area, but in our minds this was our resting area, or at least relaxing zone before the Bramalea Mall opened.

But it got more serious.  Our feathered friend came right at our heads, flapping its wings.  No beak penetration occurred, like in the scenes from Hitchcock’s “The Birds.”
