Ghanashyama prabhu, Dayanidhi prabhu and I had the good fortune to connect with the District Magistrate of Nadia, Sri Vijai Bharati on Tuesday the 13th of October, 2015 at his home, where we were reminded of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura who held the magistrate position, some 125 years ago. If a single word could encapsulate the evening, it would have to be inspirational.

Ghanashyam prabhu had met Mr. Bharati about a month and a half earlier, and they enjoyed the comfort of speaki

Peace, Love and Hare Krishna

(Ringo Starr, Victoria, Canada, October 8, 2015)

By Padmapani das

Beatle drummer Ringo Starr, age 75, is on tour in North America this month with his All-Starr Band. He recently played in Victoria, Canada (October 8, 2015), spreading his now familiar message of “peace and love” along with “Hare Krishna.” During his second song, “It Don’t Come Easy,” co-written with George Harrison and a big hit for Ringo in 1971, local concert goers confirm that Ringo enthusiastically shouted, “Hare Krishna”

Recently, at the appearance day of Lalita Devi there was an 8th anniversary of establishing the mataji sankirtan party in Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi. In 2007 female disciples of Srila Prabhupada invited everyone to take part in the congregational chanting in the Samadhi. There were many microphones, mridangas and karatals. It was a large loud blissful kirtan that certainly made Srila Prabhupada smile proudly as his disciples and grand-disciples ecstatically sang out the Holy Names here in the

(An Excerpt from the book Mysteries of the Ancient Vedic Empire, by Sri Nandanandana dasa–Stephen Knapp)

As we look over the various cultures and religions of the world, we may ask if all religious systems are divine. Though they seem to conflict with each other on various points, still there are many areas of truth in which they all agree. Or you could say that some of the same essential truths can be found within each of them. And by a careful comparison, we can trace the essence of that trut

According to a premier annual International Survey, the trend of break-ups among young couples is drastically soaring. The statistics showed that maximum percentage of these break-ups have been between 1-8 months of the lifespan of the relationship. This revelation shows the predominance of the effect of Kaliyuga where the values, culture, morality and mentality of the conditioned souls is rapidly degrading, owing to the greatest enemy of mankind called 'lust'.

CHAPTER 4:9–12: STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

CHAPTER 4:9–12: STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and has no one to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone? And though an attacker might prevail against one man alone, two will withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
