Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

One who practices devotional service should display humility before the Supreme Lord, appear like fool before the spiritual master, surrender his

independence before Vaishanvas, and display detachment toward material existence.

CULTURED BOYS & GIRLS
[Spring 1973, ISKCON Los Angeles]

Srila Prabhupada often described the differences between Vedic civilization and western civilization.

"Boys and girls," he said on one occasion. "Now a man, he wants to do something. He sees some woman and says 'I'll get that woman'. He'll go up to her and say, 'What are you doing? Why don't we go out?' When we were young," he continued, "the same desires were there. The desires haven't changed at all. We also had desires like that. Yo

Thought Of The Day

So if you adherently be always engaged in some sort of service, twenty-four hours in the service of the Supreme Lord Krsna in Krsna consciousness, there is no power in the world who can drag you into this sense gratification province. You at once become nirguna. This is the process. So we have to stick to this principle: "How I can serve Krsna always, always?" Iha yasya harer dasye. If you cannot do, if you simply think, "How can I do? How can I do? How can I do?" simply this, if you practically

KITTEN WANTS TO BE WITH SRILA PRABHUPADA!
[April 1973, ISKCON New Dwarka, Los Angeles, USA]

Whenever weather permitted and there was privacy, Srila Prabhupada wanted his massage outside with his back to the morning sun. "The morning sun gives you energy and the afternoon sun takes it away," His Divine Grace often said.

One sunny day, Srila Prabhupada decided to have his massage in his "favorite place," the New Dwarka garden. After I placed the mat on the grass with sandalwood and mustard oil

Last three Sundays were dedicated to the Glories of Lord Sri Sri Jaganaath and HIS Pure Devotees.  Here are the few that were covered during this Sunday:

Once, there was a very famous tailor in Delhi, named after Paramesti, who used to stitch dresses for Bhadsha(King) of Delhi.  Paramesti was a very great devotee of Lord Jaganaath.  Once, king gives very beautiful and very soft cloth and cotton to Paramesti and orders him to stitch two pillows.

Seeing the beauty and softness of the cloth and cot

Thought Of The Day

So although we have made our friendship with Krsna and He will always protect us, but at the same time this devotional line is risky also, that we create so many enemies. There are many examples in the history of this devotional service that unnecessarily people become enemy to these innocent devotees. Even a innocent boy like Prahlada Maharaja, five years old. But a devotee cannot give up his profession. You see? He was being chastised so many times by his atheistic father, but what Prahlada Ma

An atheist and a little girl

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned
to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike
up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total
stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God,
or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.

"Okay," she said. "Those could be interesting top

The Transcendental Name of Krishna

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Vasudeva, or Lord Krishna, the Absolute Personality of Godhead, is the supreme controller of everything. There is no one in creation who is not afraid of the rage of the Almighty. Great asuras like Ravana, Hiranyakasipu, Kamsa, and others who were very powerful living entities were all killed by the Personality of Godhead. And the almighty Vasudeva has empowered His name with the powers of His personal Self. Everything i

If the preachers in our Krishna consciousness movement are sincere devotees of Krishna, Krishna will always be with them because He is very kind and favourable to all His devotees. Just as Arjuna and Krishna were victorious in the battle of Kurukshetra, this Krishna consciousness  movement will surely emerge victoriousif we but remain sincere devotees of the Lord and servethe Lord according to the advice of the predecess

Who is the doer?

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

There are three doers. The living entity is doer No. 1. If he has knowledge, he realizes that all bodily activities are automatically carried out by the three modes of material nature. Therefore, the modes aredoer No. 2. The modes consist of inert matter, however. Thus they simply carry out activities which are desired by the living entity and sanctioned by the Supersoul. Therefore the Supersoul, who only sanctions, can

A Vaishnava should always carefully remember that he is a servant of the servant of the lover of the Gopis.  He is always dependent and neverindependent.  He cannot have independence, because he has sold his nature of independence in the form of being a servant of the Lord and in this way, he has obtained service to Krishna.

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Until we realize that service to Krishna and His devotees is our prime duty, we will continue to be cheated by Maya.  We can get freedom from our sinful mentality only when we sincerely take shelter at the lotus feet of Krishna’s devotees. If we serve those who constantly worship the Supreme Lord, then by their mercy we can go back to Godhead.  However, if we think the Narada in the drama party to be the real Narada, and

Srila Prabhupada Says - [Regarding how in the beginning stage of Krsna consciousness one must follow specific instructions given by the spiritual master - as given here by our spiritual master]

It is essential for a neophyte devotee who is beginning to follow the path of devotional service to observe these ten principles. One should also try to avoid offenses in serving the Lord and in chanting His holy names. There are
