Srila Prabhupada Vani

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Early in the morning, Srila Prabhupada talked with Bhavananda Maharaja about Mayapur.  Later, he spoke with Giriraja about Bombay. Srila Prabhupada then called for me, saying, "I am not getting strength.  Even to lift my leg, I need help.  Practically my left leg is not working.  What should be done now, you consider."

I called for the kaviraja, who said that milk would be beneficial, but not dahi [yogurt].  He had gone

WHY DO THE LEVELS OF BHAGAVAD GITA AND THE BHAGAVATAM DIFFER?

Parikshit Maharaja, the grandson of Arjuna is sitting near the lotus feet of Srila Sukadeva Gosvami to hear Srimad Bhagavatam

One question that is very frequently asked is that that although the Srimad Bhagavatam and the Bhagavad Gita are compiled by the same author, Srila Vyasadeva, why is it that the Bhagavatam is considered more exalted than the Bhagavad Git

"Krsna is situated in everyone's heart, and if one desires something, Krsna fulfills one's desire. If the living entity by chance or fortune comes in contact with the Krsna consciousness movement and wishes to associate with that movement, Krsna, who is situated in everyone's heart, gives him the chance to meet a bona fide spiritual master. This is called guru-krsna-prasada. Krsna is prepared to bestow His mercy upon al

Mark was taking Krsna consciousness as seriously as I was. We decided that we would make a final visit to Ron Lamerick and his followers, and we arrived to find a group meditation in progress. At the end of the meditation, when the people there opened their eyes and saw us, they were eager to know where we had been for the last weeks. Sometimes, when Ron was not present, Mark and I had led the sessions, so we were looke

Living in the temple meant a deeper commitment. It was expected that we would assume regular duties, just as the other devotees had. Now, in addition to cleaning the pots and the kitchen floor, I was engaged by the cooks in kneading the dough to make the one hundred fifty capatis that were served each day at lunch. Getting the proportion of flour and water to come out just right took practice. My first attempts at rolli

Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: Yes. What is that understanding? His understanding is that "I am eternal servant of Krsna. So let me surrender to Krsna as He wants and serve Him." This is life. As soon as he is on this platform, then he is out of illusion. And if he is perfect, then just after giving up this body he goes to Krsna. This is the process. If he does not fall from this transcendental service of Krsna, then immediately after death he is transferred. Just like we are transferred from this gross body to su

Thought Of The Day

Try to understand that in daytime you are illusioned by this gross body, and at night you are illusioned by the subtle body. So both of them are illusion. Therefore if you are intelligent, your inquiry should be "What is my real life?" That is intelligence, "What I am?" That is... Sanatana Gosvami placed before... "What I am?" Ke ami. That "I am simply hovering in illusion, gross and subtle. Then what is my real position? What I am?" That is real philosophy. Athato brahma jijnasa. This is called
