“My dear Arjuna, only by undivided devotional service can I [as nama-rupa avatara] be understood as I am, standing [dancing] before you [on your tongue], and can thus be seen directly [in the proper light]. Only in this way can you enter into the mysteries of My understanding.” (Bg. 11.54)

  • A person can be tested how much they are advanced in Krishna consciousness by how much they are detached from material sense gratification. If someone is still attached to material sense enjoyment and at the same time posses himself as a great devotee, he is cheating. "Great devotee" means that one is no longer disturbed by material desires. We may put a dog on a throne and crown him as king. But when someone throws a bone he will jump off the throne and immediately run for the bone. Many, so called "Devotees" are exposed when they were found to be having illicit sex and intoxication. Lord Caitanya taught us the standard for pure devotional service. He said that He had no desire for wealth, women, followers, or even for liberation from the cycle of birth and death, that the only thing He desired was devotional service birth after birth. This is the standard of pure bhakti.

  • Maya keeps us very tightly in her grip by enticing and entangling us with the illusory pleasures of this material existence. They are called illusory because like a mirage in the desert they offer no real pleasure.
This being the case it should be easy for us to give up illusory happiness and go for the real happiness. But the difficulty is that our senses have become so addicted to these illusory pleasures that it becomes practically unthinkable for us to give them up. Therefore we must take help from the higher authorities, such as the Vedic wisdom and the spiritual master, and with fixed intelligence cut through the hard knot of sensory attraction to engage our senses directly in the service of Krishna, who is known as Hrishikesha, the master of the senses. This will liberate us from the clutches of illusory pleasure and enable us to fully taste the sweetest happiness of our eternal relationship with Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

    Plz Chant,
    Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra,
    & Be Happy.
  • Prabhupada makes a very clear understanding what it means to be poor, poor doesn’t mean without money, without food, without clothes, poor means a person who does not have Krsna consciousness, they are spiritually poor. The people in the western countries living in their big, big mansions and expensive homes, driving their nice cars, eating al kind of foods, they are poor because although they have so much wealth materially, their hearts are lonely, their hearts are starving and when we look in their eyes, we see poverty of the heart. So who is poor? A rich man fearful, suspicious, lonely, never getting enough, taking sleeping pills to go to sleep at night, taking alcohol and drugs to somehow or another cope with the anxiety of the day, going here there on all kinds of vacations to somehow or another just finds some variedgatedness and life to just escape from the loneliness within, sometimes they even engage in cruel egoistic acts to others just to get some excitement out of life; they are poor.
