    Anise milk with raisins and pistachios
    2/3 cup[100g] raisins
    2tbs anise seeds
    1 3/4 cups[425ml] water
    1/4 cup[35g] pistachio nuts
    2 1/2 cups[600]ml whole milk
    1/2 tsp groundcardamom seeds
    4tbs honey or 5tbs sugar
    cover the raisins with warm water and soak them for 10 minutes.in a saucepan, boil the anise seeds in the water for 5 min.lower the heat and simmer for 10 min. More.
    Biend the pistachio nuts,drained raisins,ground cardamom,and milk in an electric blender and set aside.strain the anise water stir the honey into it.then add it to the mixture/stir well,and chill.
    Offer it to lord .Serve each glass of thandai garnished with a spring of mint leaves.

    PREPARATIONS AND COOKING TIME:25 MIN.

    ingredients:
    honey for topping
    1,5 cup flour
    1 tbs bakingpouder
    0,5 bakingsoda
    0.5 tsp seasalt
    0,2 tsp clovespowder
    1 tsp cinnamon powder
    0,5 tsp nutmeg powder
    0,5 cup salted butter
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tbs yogurt or sour cream (u can leave this out but it adds extra nice flavour)
    1 cup smashed ripe banana
    2 tbs water
    1tsp vanilla essence/aroma

    tbs=tablespoon
    1 cup = 250 ml

    butter the cakevorm (around 20 cm cakevorm) and put some flour in..
    heat the oven to 177 C degrees
    put all dry ingredients together (except sugar)
    mix the butter, sugar, yogurt, banana, vanilla and water untill its smooth.
    Put 1/3 of the dry ingredients with the fluid mix and mix it again till its smooth.
    ... Go on like this ... mix everything untill its a smooth batter.
    The batter must be thick, but if it's too think add some water.

    Put the batter in the cakevorm and bake it in 40 - 45 minutes on a grid just under the middle of your oven. Dont open the oven in between for best result,

    If its ready- remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes..
    Thencut the sides and turn it around.. Let it cool of more..

    Then garnish with honey or something u like and offer to the Lord,

  • Ingredients

    Carrots, 1 inch pieces 2 medium
    Cauliflower, separated into florets 1/4 medium
    French beans, 1 inch pieces 10-12
    Green peas, blanched 1/2 cup
    Oil 2 tablespoons
    Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
    Cashewnuts 15-20
    Peanuts 2 tablespoons
    Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
    Green chillies, chopped 2
    Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
    Fresh tomato puree 3 cups
    Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
    Garam masala powder 1 1/2 teaspoons
    Yogurt 1/4 cup
    Salt to taste
    Fresh coriander leaves 2 tablespoons

    Method

    Heat oil in a deep pan. Add cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add carrots and sauté for two minutes. Add one cup of water and let it cook.

    Soak cashewnuts and peanuts in water for fifteen minutes and then grind into a smooth paste.Add turmeric powder, green chillies and red chilli powder to the carrots and stir. Add cashewnut-peanut paste and mix.

    Add cauliflower and cook for a minute. Add tomato puree and mix.

    Add coriander powder and garam masala powder and stir. Cover and cook till the vegetables are almost done.

    Add French beans and green peas and let it simmer for four to five minutes. Add yogurt and salt and mix. Simmer for two minutes and take it off the heat.

    Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
