26 September 2026 | Acceptance of Sannyasa by Srila Prabhupada
 
Seeing his enthusiasm and ability to write articles in Hindi, English and Bengali, Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Maharaj gave him the instruction to take tridandi-sannyasa. For nearly one year he had been ready to accept sannyasa.
 
In the month of Bhadra, on the day on which Vishvarupa accepted sannyasa, Bhaktivedanta Swami at the Sri Keshavaji Gaudiya Math accepted sannyasa from the founder of the Vedanta Samiti, Bhaktiprajnana Keshava Maharaj. 
 
Seeing him accept his ashram of renunciation, seeing this pastime for accepting the renounced order of life, we have attained great affection and enthusiasm.

Visvarupa Mahotsava is the day when Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu accepted sannyasa from Srila Kesava Bharati.
 
It's the day when he said that I'll go out to search for my elder brother Visvarupa who had left home, took sannyasa and gone to Pandharpur.

Caturmasya stands for ‘four months’. It is the period between sayana and uttana ekadasis. The scriptures refer to this period as the duration of Lord Visnu’s sleep in this universe.

Hare Krishna to all the Mataji's and Prabhuji's I'm a non-initiated devotee and since on 19th September 2026, our most beloved Radha Rani's birthday is coming. I want to ask that how to keep the fast for Radhashtmi. Since different sampradaya follows different methods of fasting, and I'm not currently initiated into any..
