This year’s Jagannatha Rathayatra in Seattle was a grand success. The devotees told me there were more than a thousand who attended the parade and between 12.00pm and 7.00pm around nine thousand came through the park.

Devotees from the Seattle community, over the last few years, have leased a downtown facility to host programs for those interested in genuine spiritual advancement. It is called the Bhakti Studio and many come to chant, dance, discuss and partake of delicious prasadam.

In the summertime, when the weather is nice, everyone goes out to a nearby park that overlooks the beautiful Seattle harbour. There they have their normal program of chanting and dancing but outdoors instead of inside.

I was invited to give a talk on the highest yoga principles at the new Bhakti Yoga Studio near downtown Seattle. It is a nicely set up facility and especially meant for young people who are searching for the meaning of life.

Seattle is a large city so could have a lot of ISKCON temples in different areas. To accommodate a growing devotee community a property was bought in the Bellevue district, which is an important business area just outside downtown Seattle.
