Don’t be too quick to comment

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Many of us are quick to comment on practically anything. We’ll gladly comment on someone else’s comment, their opinion, or a mistake that we perceive may have been made. We will offer our own opinion, comment on a policy or a pattern of behavior. Often we just want to get something off our chests. Sometimes when we’re mad or frustrated, we’ll blurt something. We’ll comment on the way someone looks, behaves, or seems to t

The Mind and the Stormy Ocean

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Swamiananda, and his disciple Ranga, were strolling on the beach by the ocean. It was a cold day and the wind was blowing strongly over the ocean, raising very high waves.

After walking for some time, Swamiananda stopped, looked at his disciple and asked:
"What does the choppy ocean remind you?"

"It reminds me of my mind. Of my rushing and restless thoughts", answered Ranga.

"Yes, the stormy ocean is like the mind, and the w

Lord Siva being Narada’s Guru (Ref Narada Pancharatra chapter 8 & 9)

One day Narada Rishi went to the assembly of the gods. Thirty-three crores of gods were sitting there. That Narada Rishi, what a devotee of God he was! Always drunk with God’s name, he traveled on foot, without beast or cart, throughout the three worlds.
When he went to the assembly of gods, he was given a small seat below everyone else. Narada Rishi sat

Thought Of The Day

So spiritual life means anxiety-less. This is the difference between material life and spiritual life. Brahma-bhutah prasannatma [Bg. 18.54], in the Bhagavad-gita it is described what is spiritual life. As soon as you are identified with the Absolute Truth, Brahman, then symptoms will be prasannatma, jubilation: "Oh, I do not belong to this material world. I belong to the spiritual world. I am part and parcel of Krsna. Why should I suffer so many things?" That is jubilation. Brahma-bhutah prasan

What is the Age of Kali?

In the Age of Kali, the Earth thus becomes crowded with a corrupt population, whoever among any of the social classes shows himself to be the strongest will gain political power.”

This zine isn’t for people who feel modern life couldn’t be better. Such people like to be controlled more or less by the media’s projection of the goal of life and attempts made by corporations to promote bodily consciousness.

This is a zine for people who, not only want something more like a change of politics, but who

It is also found in Garuda Purana, very interesting, that Lord Shiva was approached by all the Devas, that there was a demon called Andhaka, that they had to destroy him.

So then he took from all the demigods, he took energy, and he made a whole army of celestial energies, with destructive power called...they were called the Matri Danas, the mothers!

But actually they were destructive. Instead of going after the demon, they started to go after the ordinary citizens; They were devouring everything,

Nrsimha Nectar 03: Different Kalpa 1

In the Padma Purana it mentions that another kalpa, Hiranyakashipu asked, "I can't be killed by a man, by animal, by deva, not by anything dead or alive", but he did'nt mention "in our out". Like in this lila it is not 'inside or outside', but in that lila he didn't mention that. So that's...didn't have to be killed in the door-way. So like that some little differences are there in each of the pastimes.

So Hiranyakashipu told Prahalad that, "I'm giving you till 6'oclock, until sundown!" Like in A

Glories of Narashinga Dev

Lord Nrsimha is so exalted that even His nails are glorified by the Vaishnava acharyas! In the Sudarsana-sata-nama stotra of the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya, it is said that Lord Narayana's Sudarshana Chakra descended as the tusk of Varaha, the axe of Parasurama, and the nails of Nrsimha. In this way, the nails of Nrsimha accompany the Lord in His various avatars. Sri Madhavacharya worships the power of Lord Nrsimha's nails in his Nakha-Stuti.

Terror Attack

Radhanath Maharaja told me a very blissful story the other day and he said I could use it. So here goes! There was that Taj Hotel where the terrorists attacked. They were fighting in there for three days, complete carnage. The terrorists had arranged in such a way that they would always be up higher. They would shoot from a lower vantage point down. Radhanath Maharaja told me this. They had all these grenades and they would throw the grenades and the grenades would create so much smoke that if y

"I Want My Eyes Back!"

On a warm December morning last year, around 11:00 a.m., as I sought the association of the magnificent Lord and prayed to His dear most devotee Prahlada, I found myself involved in one of His temple lilas (pastimes), much to my astonishment

After offering my obeisances to the captivating Prahlada, who stands next to his beloved Lord with his hands folded and his small body decorated with fresh fresh flowers and beautiful ornaments, I prayed, "My dear Prahlada, you are expert in receiving all kin

Lord Nrsimha

In my heart reside duplicity, insincerity, the desire for fame, and the six enemies: lust, anger, envy, fear, illusion and intoxication. Therefore I will pray at the feet of Lord Nrsimha to purify my heart and give me the desire to serve Krishna.

Weeping I will beg Lord Nrsimha that I may worship Radha-Madhava in Navadvip, free from obstacles. Although this form of the Lord is terrible for the evil, He is exceedingly auspicious for the devotees headed by Prahlada. When will Lord Nrsiimha become
