Thought Of The Day

So we should directly take to the nine different processes of devotional service, sravanam kirtanam visnoh [SB 7.5.23]. That we are stressing specifically every time, that hearing about Krsna is very important. Sravanam. As it is described in the Bhagavatam, srnvatam sva-kathah krsnah [SB 1.2.17]. Srnvatam. 2514920386?profile=original

If one does a nirjala fast for Janmastami, highly recommended, then after Sunrise one can take non-grain prasada and then fast from grains till Prabhupada's feast celebration, thus both fasts are observed.

If one has taken non-grain prasada on Janmastami then one can't take prasada again till the Prabhupada feast.

The sastric paran or break fast rules for Janmastami are as follows:

1. After the Janmastami festival (around 12.45) Grains are strictly forbidden.

2. After the astami tithi ending, 3

An Indian Saying: You will be Intelligent when 80
[August 1973, Bhaktivedant Manor, England, UK]

I sat behind His Divine Grace and rubbed his head with sandalwood oil for a cooling effect. After massaging his head for about 15 minutes, I massaged Srila Prabhupada's back. I used mustard seed oil on his body, so I picked up the bottle to put a small amount in my hand. Srila Prabhupada sat perfectly relaxed. He always enjoyed his massage and this day was no different. Then I stood up and changed

Those who bring Krishna in their lives invite auspiciousness in their lives. In Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.17 it is described, “If someone gives up all material prospects and takes complete shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, there is no loss or degradation in any way.” Krishna loves everyone equally but he is more favorably inclined towards those who are his devotees. “Those who follow this imperishable path of devotional service and who completely engage themselves with faith, making Me

Thought Of The Day

So to find out a bona fide guru is not difficult, provided one is bona fide to search out a guru. Therefore Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, guru-krsna-krpaya paya bhakti-lata-bija [Cc. Madhya 19.151]. By the mercy of guru and Krsna... Because by the mercy of Krsna one gets a bona fide guru, and by the mercy of bona fide guru, one gets Krsna. This is the process. When I am actually serious to have connection with Krsna, Krsna is sitting in everyone's heart. Isvarah sarva-bhutanam hrd-dese 'rjuna tistha

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Child-worship is more important than Deity-worship. If you cannot spend time with your child, then stop the duties of pujari. These children are given to us by Krishna. They are Vaisnavas and we must be very careful to protect them. These are not ordinary children, they are Vaikuntha children, and we are very fortunate we can give them chance to advance further in Krishna Consciousness. That is very great responsibility,

If Krishna consciousness is covered by material sins, one can eliminate the sins simply by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, but if one pollutes his Krishna Consciousness by offending a brahmama or a Vaisnava, such a vaishnava-aparadha cannot be atoned for by any means other than by begging the pardon of the offended Vaisnava. Gita Govinda

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Once upon a time, The Gita Govinda song was very famous among the people of Orissa. In a small village near Puri, there lived a girl named Padma. She was the daughter of a gardener, and was very expert in singing Gita Govinda. One day while Padma was plucking eggplant from the garden, she was chanting Gita Govinda very melodiously. When Lord Jagannath heard this song of Gita Govinda, He became so attracted and He could

Preaching Like a Soldier

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Although Srila Prabhupada, from an external point of view, may have appeared to be suffering physically due to his deteriorated bodily condition - His Divine Grace always remained absorbed in the plane of transcendence - remembering the lotus feet of his most worshipable Deities, Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram, and Sri Sri Radha Shyamasundar.
One day, seeing that it was with great difficulty that Srila Prabh
