On November 3, 2027, the fiftieth anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s disappearance, copper plates micro-engraved with names will be carried to his Samadhi Mandir in Vrindavan, an offering, not a database entry, that organizers plan to repeat every year after. Each name belongs to someone who registered their ISKCON membership before that date.

Pancharatna Das, a devotee since 1970, leads the effort and splits his year between Mayapur and ISKCON New York. He isn’t a GBC member, but serves on its Organizational Development Committee and Strategic Planning Team, which oversee ISKCON Connection. Their work has spent over a decade circling one simple question: who exactly is a member of ISKCON?
