The Hare Krishna community in Tongaat recently marked the opening of a dedicated Food for Life kitchen at the Vishwarup Temple community complex, creating a new base for a service initiative that has provided meals and community outreach across the region for more than two decades.

The opening ceremony, attended by Bhakti Chaitanya Swami, represents a significant milestone for the local branch of Food for Life South Africa. For Aravinda Dalayataksha Das, chairman of the Tongaat Food for Life program and Vice President of ISKCON Phoenix’s New Jagannath Puri Temple, the facility is the latest chapter in a journey that began in 2002 under the guidance of his spiritual master, Bhakti Charu Swami.
