55 years ago, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), traveled to Moscow, USSR. He spent five days in Russia, from where the Hare Krishna movement spread to other countries of the former USSR.
On August 17th, a festive event was held at the Hotel National in Moscow to commemorate Prabhupada’s arrival. Srila Prabhupada stayed here during his visit to the capital of the USSR from June 20 to 25, 1971
