When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
In class 11 (year 2016) my best friend Baishaki told me about Bhagwat Geeta As It Is which was best among other Geeta books she had read. I told my father and we went to the nearest Iskcon center.... ISKCON Silchar (my hometown is Silchar Assam, I stay in Kolkata now for my undergraduation) and bought it. I started reading and soon started chanting but not in beads, when I reached chapter 3 or 4, it was written to chant Hare Krishna mahamantra 24 hours a day. So I started chanting continuosly but didn't know that I should chant on beads. Then it continued for one year.. But I fell many times. Good thing happened is that I left eating meat, egg and fishes. My parents supported me fortunately. Then in the year 2018 I dropped for one year for coaching .. And also started to fast for ekadashi days.. But I still don't know how to fast for ekadashi... I came to know how to chant.. But I didn't have japa malas... So I started chanting on my fingers... I used to chant 2 rounds on my fingers. Then in the year 2019, on June 6 I took the japa mala along with bead bag from the ISKCON Silchar temple. A Mataji ( name was quite long so I forgot) gave me mala and I promised in front of Srila Prabhupada that now on I will chant 4 rounds of Hare Krishna mahamantra daily. But after 1 month my relatives started taunting me for this and my mother started opposing me... So for 4 months I didn't chant regularly ( I made this aparadha) . In August I came in Kolkata for my studies. So I started chanting on beads regularly from the month of mid-October . I don't have any devotee association. I should not have broken my promise.

Nearest iskcon is Iskcon kolkata... But I visited only once after coming in Kolkata.... Earlier I used to visit iskcon silchar regularly when I was in Assam. Personally I don't know any bhakta but in quora I follow Pranjal Yadav ( iit Kanpur ) , he is also not initiated but he is a devotee and frequently writes Krishna consciousness answers, I also follow Akash M ( he will be brahmachari in Iskcon Bangalore) , and I also follow website of Gurudev Sankarshan Das who is from ISKCON Austin, I follow GIVE GITA website by Vrindavanchandra Das Prabhu. I follow many other devotees in social media like quora facebook and whatsapp telegram....
