When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
See 'about me' section
Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.
Born in the movement. My parents opened and managed the North Sydney temple, still running today. They later divorced. My mother remarried and we went and lived in Orissa under the guidance of Gaur Govinda Swami until his departure from this world (6yrs we were there). During that period I learnt Odissi Classical dance. We returned to Australia where i finished my formal education. Unfortunately I left the movement from ages 17-21 due to depression and eating disorders. But I bounced back with the help of my mata, and in 2004 at age 22 I was initiated by my beloved Gurudev Bhakti-tirtha swami, and have since been married and have two beautiful children, Priya Sundari and Nila Madhava. I am studying my advanced diploma in naturopathy, I have held reunions here in Australia for our devotional youth, I write articles for the Eating Disorders Resource Centre here in Queensland and I have worked in age care and palliative care. My husband, Bhakta Michael is aspiring to Indradyumna Swami and we are both ecstatically looking forward to his upcoming Australian reunion. I am interested in connecting with other young women in our movement who are pro-actively pursuing Krishna Conciousness hand-in-hand with their lives. Haribol!
What are your expectations from this community?
Quality Sanga, especially women association.
Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?
One of my Gurudev's (Bhakti-Tirtha Swami) instructions to me was to develop Vaishnavi forums. I would be interested in meeting young ladies and creating various topics of interest together. My specialty experience is with Motherhood, Odissi Indian Dancing, Devotional Youth Reunions, Eating Disorders and Naturopathy.
