  In short heart has nothing to do with soul.

  I think when the heart is transplanted the soul of the donor goes to a place or realm it earned thro its actions and the and the recepients  soul remains in the same body  . Bec the heart is of material nature and the soul is spiritual the soul need not accompany the heart.

  In a nutshell, religion means to return back to Godhead, back to the Supreme Personality, Lord Krishna. Spiritualism means to become spiritual, to be Krishna conscious so that one can go back to Godhead. BEWARE of all kinds of speculation, voidism and impersonalism.
