On the disappearance day of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur (14 Dec 2011).

The following is an excerpt from the book "Sri Chaitanya: His Life and Associates" by Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj.

Thought Of The Day

So this material civilization is just like decorating the dead body. This body is dead. That is a fact. So long the soul is there, it is working, it is moving. Just like your coat. It is dead. But so long it is on your body, it appears the coat is moving. The coat is moving. But if somebody is very much astonished, "Oh, how nice the coat is moving!" (laughter) He does not know the coat cannot move. The coat is dead. But because the man is there who is putting on the coat, therefore the coat is m

Anything that Srila Prabhupada (Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura) wanted to
get done always got done. Whatever desire he expressed always was fulfilled,
sometimes very miraculously. Let me tell you about just two incidents.
The new temple at Sri Yogapith in Mayapur was going to be opened in a few
days by the King of Tripura. Since there was no electricity in Mayapur at
that time, we had ordered a generator to be shipped to Mayapur from
Calcutta. W

Japan’s new ISKCON temple, opened in Funabori, Edogawa, Tokyo this summer, has gone from strength to strength since and proven to be an inspirational hub for its congregation.

The temple, dubbed “ISKCON New Gaya” after the Indian pilgrimage and site of many of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s pastimes, opened its doors to the public with a two-day festival back on July 2nd and 3rd, as did a new pure vegetarian Govinda’s restaurant and a Vedic Culture Center.

Around 1,500 people from cities across Japan

Thought Of The Day

So the laws of nature is working. I am under, completely under the laws of nature. I may declare independence falsely. That doesn't matter. Nature's work will go on. And what is that nature's work? Daivi hy esa gunamayi mama maya [Bg. 7.14]. Nature is also Krsna's nature. This material nature is Krsna's nature. So material nature is not bad itself. She is also engaged in service of Krsna. Just like the police force. Police force, as the department of government, is not bad. It is doing faithfull

expect miseries & calamity

EXPECT MISERIES AND CALAMITIES

(based on talks of H.H.Radhanath swami )

Just like we expect monsoon and are not surprised by the coming and going of seasons , similarly we should expect miseries, challenges, tempations to come our way & be prepared , just as we are prepared by carrying our umbrella in monsoon , simlarly we should take the shelter of lotus feet of krishna , it is such a umbrella which will not only protect you from misery but shower you with nectar .

If you think that i am very intel

Sakshi Gopal

HK PAMHO

This is the story of Sakshi Gopal (Witness of the Wedding):

Once there were two Brahmins (priests) from Vidyanagara in South India, who decided to make a long tour of the various holy places of pilgrimage in Northern India.

After a long time the two pilgrims reached Vrindavana, the sacred place of Lord Krishna’s pastimes. They took their bath in the waters of the holy Yamuna River and visited such holy places as Govardhana Hill, together with all twelve forests of Vrindavana, eventually ar

one of the great emperors of the world. He reigned over the world long before the reign of Maharaja Yudhisthira. He was the son of Maharaja Aviksit and was a great devotee of the son of the sun-god, known as Yamaraja. His brother Samvarta was a rival priest of the great Brhaspati, the learned priest of the demigods. He conducted one sacrifice called Sankara-yajna by which the Lord was so satisfied that He was pleased to hand over to him the charge of a mountain peak of gold. This peak of gold is

When demoralized, let's turn to the Bhagavad-Gita

2514850705?profile=original

When life makes us demoralized, we need both enlightenment (knowing what to do) and encouragement (feeling confident that we can do it) to regain our morale. Those who encourage without enlightening often end up delivering shallow, cosmetic or insubstantial platitudes. Those who enlighten without encouraging often end up delivering holier-than-thou, impractical or unappealing sermons.

Lord Krishna blends enlightenment and encouragement endearingly in his message of love, the Bhagavad-Gita. Therei

Thought Of The Day

So one has to work because his business is to become servant. Jivera svarupa haya nitya-krsna-dasa [Cc. Madhya 20.108-109]. So if he does not become servant of Krsna, then he will have to become servant of maya. Just like same thing we are doing in this New Vrindaban or anywhere. The same thing. We are also cooking, we are also cleansing. So this is for Krsna. So even if we get tired by cleansing for Krsna, but that is an asset. Yes. And if we work the same thing for sense gratification, that is

Radha Krishna Lila

Srila Prabhupada: The siddha-pranali process is followed by a class of men who are not very authorized and who have manufactured their own way of devotional service. They imagine they have become associates of the Lord simply by thinking of themselves like that.

This external behavior is not at all according to the regulative principles. The so-called siddha-pranali process is followed by the prakrita-sahajiya, a pseudosect of so-called Vaishnavas. In the opinion of Rupa Gosvami, such activities

History of Vrinda Kunda

Some five thousand years ago, after Krishna and His associates wound up Their earthly pastimes, the Lord's great-grandson, Vajranabha Maharaja, installed Deities of Krishna all over Vraja. Deities were installed also at Vrinda Kunda. Later, unfortunately, They were disfigured by Muslim invaders and for some time They disappeared from human sight. Today, although They are no longer worshiped, They are still giving darshan in a small kutir by the side of the main temple, under an old chokara tree

Attached To Your Car?

“It is quite interesting to note, especially for Americans, that in those days they did not use Ford, Chevy, Benz or Rolls Royce but beautiful chariots, hand carved, with silver and gold. Beautiful horses and elephants were the methods of conveyance. From this we can understand that a great king could feel very proud of his chariots decorated in newest design, with good horses, and so on. Naturally he could be attached to it and go around showing off his buggy to everyone.

But it is mentioned her
