As a spiritual guru of ISKCON, Lokanath Maharaj has been associated with Krishna Consciousness from 1972.  That was the year when he got his first initiation from Srila Prabhupada and so began his voyage on this spiritual path to become a bonafide guru of ISKCON.

In this journey, he has created many landmarks. He started as an ISKCON minister for the Srila Prabhupada Centennial. His Holiness co-ordinated a global campaign and in the year 1996, the magnificent Centennial celebrations achieved unmatched success with respect to the number of Srila Prabhupada’s books distributed, plates of prasadam served, and festivals conducted worldwide.

But this was just a drop from the huge ocean of his achievements in ISKCON. His holiness has worked on many spiritual and educational projects such as Padayatra festival, World Holy Name Week Festival, Bhaktivedanta Academy for Spiritual Sciences (BASS), etc. He has also given his able leadership and guidance in the construction of various temples all over the world, some of the temples include ISKCON Aravade, ISKCON Nagpur, ISKCON Amravati, ISKCON Noida, ISKCON Pandharpur, ISKCON Solapur, etc.

One of the most sparkling gems in the projects of H. H. Lokanath Swami Maharaj is Bhaktivedanta Academy for Spiritual Sciences, Noida.  Srila Prabhupada was deeply concerned by the education system followed in modern India. He always expressed dissatisfaction on how the current education system is stripping Indians of their priceless heritage of Vedic culture and wisdom. Lokanath Maharaj understood the vision of his spiritual master and drafted the master plan of a huge educational project i.e. Bhaktivedanta Academy for Spiritual Sciences (BASS).

BASS being the most important and desirable feature of ISKCON Noida, offers essential teachings of the Vedic scriptures to one and all. With its well defined layout and structure, BASS has separate wings catering to the needs of children, university students, and corporate executives. Children’s wing is running a very successful Weekend School for more than 4 years now. It provided them spiritual enlightenment through storytelling and dramas. The second most important wing of BASS is ISKCON Youth Forum (IYF), which caters to the needs of university students. IYF is presenting the students with Vedic principles with scientifically proven facts. Time to time, the corporate executives are being sent to various retreats based on the concepts like Bhakti-Yoga, Yoga for health, Inter-religious dialogues, and management lessons so that they can learn from our scriptures and successfully implement them to come out of their stressful life.

Another vital project running successfully under Lokanath Swami Maharaj’s virtuous guidance is the World Holy Name Week Festival. The main initiative of this project is to increase auspiciousness on this planet. The mission of the World Holy Name Week Festival is simply to connect and combine the efforts of all the people who chant the Holy Names into a unified global force that can be measured and amplified through the medium of the maha – mantra. This is the reason why each year, under H.H Lokanath Swami Maharaj’s guidance, the festival’s achievements continue to expand.

Lokanath Maharaj has been working on many other projects as well. These projects include book projects, many other temple projects, etc.  His continued and tireless efforts have created a deep mark on his devotees all over the world. Such is the aura of Lokanath Maharaj, which is ever increasing and we as his disciples always wish to be able to work under his holy guidance and serve for the divine upliftment of human race.
