ISKCON Australia’s Women’s Minister, Krishnarupa Devi Dasi (ACBSP), was recently invited to serve as a faith-based project advisor for the “Faith as a Strength: Prevention of Violence Against Women” initiative. The program, launched by Australia’s peak body for preventing violence against women, Our Watch, in collaboration with the Nossal Institute for Global Health at Melbourne University, brought together religious leaders from diverse traditions to develop practical strategies for primary prevention of domestic abuse.
Anu Krishnan, a prominent advocate for ending violence against women and Founder & CEO of Kulturbrille, as well as the 2019 VMC Award Winner for Victoria’s Multicultural Awards for Excellence, stated, “I absolutely wanted Krishnarupa’s input into this important work.”
Krishnarupa, who has served as the Women’s Minister for Australia since 2016, explained that she was deeply committed to the prevention of violence against women. “Since Australia’s National Council appointed me as a full voting member and the Women’s Minister for Australia in 2016, my focus has been on the well-being of our Vaishnavis in ISKCON,” she said.
