The Govardhan School of Culinary Arts, formally known as the Ishswad Centre for Skill Development in Sattvik Cooking, will inaugurate its first batch of students on July 17, 2026, following a launch ceremony on July 16 timed to coincide with the Jagannatha Ratha Yatra in Odisha. The in-person program, based at ISKCON’s Govardhan Ecovillage in Palghar, Maharashtra, will offer courses of varying length, from three-day intensives to nine-month diploma tracks, centered on Sattvik cooking, a style of vegetarian food preparation that excludes onion and garlic. Registration for the first cohort is open now, with limited seats available.

The school was formally launched on March 10, 2026, at Govardhan Ecovillage, with instruction for its inaugural students beginning in July. It operates in academic collaboration with the Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts and Nutritional Sciences at Symbiosis International University in Pune, which is guiding curriculum design. Radhanath Swami, founder of Govardhan Ecovillage, and Gauranga Das, the ecovillage’s director, are the school’s principal spokespeople. Its board of advisors includes chefs Sanjeev Kapoor and Ranveer Brar, along with Sattvik cooking specialists Kurma Das and Divya Alter. The program is administered under the Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust, chaired by industrialist Hrishikesh Mafatlal, and has received support from US-based entrepreneur Danny Wadhwani and Ishita De Wadhwani.
