On February 8, 2024, during festivities in New Delhi celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Appearance of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative postage stamp honoring Srila Bhaktisiddhanta’s significance as a spiritual leader.
The India Post noted, “This stamp emphasizes his immense contribution to the spiritual upliftment of millions in India and abroad.”

In honor of the upcoming 150th anniversary of the appearance of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur, the GBC Executive Committee is encouraging ISKCON leadership and congregations to gloriously celebrate the auspicious occasion. Committee members, including Revati Raman Das, Guru Prasad Swami, and Tapana Misra Das, have offered some suggestions for the observance of this festival:
— Organize an exhibition within your temple showcasing the life,
achievements, and teachings of Srila Bhaktisidd
My Guru Mahārāja, my spiritual master, used to say that you have to select a spiritual master not by seeing but by your ear, but by hearing. And you don’t select a spiritual master who has got a very good hair or beard or some very beautiful feature, ‘Oh, he is a very good, nice looking.’ No. You must hear.
