Jagad Bharta Prabhu (ACBSP) joined ISKCON in December 1973 in Brazil inspired by Siddhaswarupananda and Radhapati Prabhu. He lived in Siddhaswarupananda's temple until Radhapati returned to the U.S., when the temple was then closed. Upon Mahavira's arrival in Brazil, Jagad Bharta immediately joined him as the ISKCON Temple treasurer.
In 1975 he became one of the very first Brazilian devotees to be initiated by Srila Prabhupada. He served as temple commander, book distributor, pujari of the first Gaura Nitai Deities installed in Brazil and other positions of responsibility. Eventually Jagad moved to Alachua where he stayed for one year before returning to Brazil. Throughout the years Jagad continued to serve ISKCON faithfully and most recently maintained an active role in the Child Protection Office in Brazil.
Earlier this year Jagad was diagnosed with two cancerous tumors in the brain. One was removed and the other cannot be surgically removed, but requires immediate medical treatment. The cost of this treatment is $25,000 dollars. This is in addition to the thousands of dollars his good wife Govindanandini and he already spent in medical consultations, exams, and other medical procedures. Although they have health insurance, it does not cover 100% of the expenses. We are appealing to the worldwide community of devotees to help this pioneer of Srila Prabhupada's movement to recover his health.
Kindly donate today as time is of essence.

Hare Krishna Dear Sri Bhagwan Prabhuji.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Thank you very much for you nice comment. I am very happy that you were inspired by the quotes, and that I can be of service to Krishna's devotee.
I am no less a fallen soul and I am able to go on knowing that suffering will bring us closer and closer to Krishna when we see it as His mercy. The quote you mentioned of Tenth Canto truly is encouraging and comforting.
I pray that our prayers and wishes for Sri Jagad Bharta Prabhu will be heard by Sri Krishna so that he can go on again blissfully in his service in this lifetime, and as you said, also in his next life as Krishna's devotee.
Your servant,

Quotes submitted by You are very motivating & relevant to fallen soul like me particularly Tenth Canto, Fourteenth Chapter, verse 8 of Sri Mad Bhagvatam.
I am also praying to Krishna for Sri Jagad Bharta Prabhuji so that he may continue serving Krishna and Srila Prabhupada not only in this lifetime but in his next spiritual life.
your servant
Dear Jagad Bharta Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I'm so sorry to hear of your illness. Some time ago I was fearful I might be developing cancer myself, so I did some research for the symptoms and cures. I found a website by the Independent Caner Research Foundation http://www.cancertutor.com/
Please do read this website carefully as you can. I found the answers I prayed to Krishna for. I fear to advise you, but you can also pray to Krishna in your heart and ask Him to guide you as what you should do. Read on this website all about cancer cures and facts that are hidden by pharmaceutical companies and doctors from the public, as they are not in their profit to tell us about them. I was astonished, and even shocked, to read what I already thought of these unscrupulous persons myself.
There are actual cures that work and do not rob you of all your financial resources. It is advised by the man who writes and maintains this website to read and follow carefully. And considering the seriousness of your illness, it is wise to be under the care of a trustworthy health doctor who understands natural cancer cures. You can indeed find such doctors.
I am praying to Krishna for you, that you will find the cure perfect for you, so that you may continue serving Krishna and Srila Prabhupada in this lifetime.
May Krishna bless you to always remember Him and never forget Him. May He bless you with His greatest gift of pure love for Him.
Here are some quotes from Srila Prabhupada that have always helped me and many other devotees who have great suffering to endure.
Srila Prabhupada Says...
Suffering is a Gift of Krishna
"Therefore, even in the worst condition, a devotee does not see that this thing is happening without the direction of Krishna. Even if he is in an adverse condition, he does not feel any pain, because he knows that this adverse condition is also under the direction of Krishna. So- 'I am fully surrendered to Krishna, why I shall take this adverse condition as not mercy of Krishna? It is also the mercy of Krishna.' So a devotee is not disturbed by adverse conditions. He takes that this is a gift of Krishna. It is Krishna's mercy. 'Although I am put into difficulty, it is Krsna's mercy.' So anyone who takes it that way - mukti padesa dayate - his going back to home, back to Godhead is guaranteed. Because he takes everything as Krishna's mercy. Just like Prahlada Maharaja. Prahlada Maharaja was so much chastised by his father. You know how he was put into difficulty in so many ways. But he was taking it as Krishna's mercy. He did not take it otherwise. So in this way, everywhere there is Krsna's hand." SB Class 1.7.12 11 September 1976 Vrindavana - From a recorded lecture -
Suffering is a Process of Purification
A devotee is naturally so humble and meek that he accepts any condition of life as a blessing from the Lord. A devotee always accepts punishment from anyone as the mercy of the Lord. If one lives in this conception of life, he sees whatever reverses occur to be due to his past misdeeds, and therefore he never accuses anyone. On the contrary, he becomes increasingly attached to the Supreme Personality of Godhead because of his being purified by his suffering. Suffering, therefore, is also a process of purification.
Srimad Bhagavatam 6.17.17
Krishna's Mercy Upon Us
Whenever a devotee is in distress or has fallen into difficulty, he thinks that it is the Lord's mercy upon him. He thinks, “Thanks to my past misdeeds I should suffer far, far greater than I am suffering now. So it is by the mercy of the Supreme Lord that I am not getting all the punishment I am due. I am just getting a little, by the mercy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead." Therefore he is always calm, quiet and patient, despite many distressful conditions. Bhagavad-gita 12.13-14 Purport
Expecting the Lord's Mercy
In the Tenth Canto, Fourteenth Chapter, verse 8, it is said,
"My dear Lord, any person who is constantly awaiting Your causeless mercy to be bestowed upon him, and who goes on suffering the resultant actions of his past misdeeds, offering You respectful obeisances from the core of his heart, is surely eligible to become liberated, for it has become his rightful claim."
This statement of Srimad-Bhagavatam should be the guide of all devotees. A devotee should not expect immediate relief from the reactions of his past misdeeds. No conditioned soul is free from such reactionary experiences, because material existence means continued suffering or enjoying of past activities. If one has finished his material activities then there is no more birth. This is possible only when one begins Krishna conscious activities, because such activities do not produce reaction. Therefore, as soon as one becomes perfect in Krishna conscious activities, he is not going to take birth again in this material world. A devotee who is not perfectly freed from the resultant actions should therefore continue to act in Krishna consciousness seriously, even though there may be so many impediments. When such impediments arise he should simply think of Krishna and expect His mercy. That is the only solace. If the devotee passes his days in that spirit, it is certain that he is going to be promoted to the abode of the Lord. By such activities, he earns his claim to enter into the kingdom of God. The exact word used in this verse is daya-bhak. Daya-bhak refers to a son's becoming the lawful inheritor of the property of the father. In a similar way, a pure devotee who is prepared to undergo all kinds of tribulations in executing Krishna conscious duties becomes lawfully qualified to enter into the transcendental abode.”
