It is with deep sorrow that we share the devastating news of the passing of Ravi Simkhara in the recent earthquake in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Ravi was in Mandalay for a business meeting when a collapsing wall tragically took his life. The news of this loss reached his family late in the evening. Because the airport was closed, his wife, Nistha Rani Radha Dasi, mother-in-law, and other family members embarked on a dangerous journey to Mandalay despite damaged roads and rubble.
Ravi was known for his humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication to serving devotees. Most recently, he attended the Kumbh Mela in India. Many fondly recall his sincere and simple-hearted nature. At just 39 years old, he leaves behind a grieving family, including his wife and two young children. He was the beloved son-in-law of the late H.G. Madhavanand Das and Nistha Rani Radha Dasi, both pioneers of ISKCON Myanmar. Ravi’s wife, Sri Gandharvika Dasi, is the current Co-chairman of the National Council.
The entire ISKCON community mourns this heartbreaking loss and prays for the departed soul’s eternal service at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna.
