Devotees of ISKCON Nandankanan make the prisoners dance in ecstasy.

10th May was the day of immense joy of the Hindu Prisoners of Chittagong prison-house. With the help of Chittagong jail administration and the support of ISKCON chittagong divisional committee in Bangladesh, devotees of ISKCON NandanKanan Sri Sri Radha Madhav temple & Sri Sri Gour Nitai Ashram organised a wonderful event inside Chittagong central jail for the hindu prisoners. ISKCON Nandankanan distributed Srimad Bhagavat Gita ( as it is) and prasadam among 300 prisoners. Devotees presented heart steering kirtan and the prisoners burst into crying for their misdeeds. The Srimad Bhagavat Gitas were distributed by the president of ISKCON Nandankanan, HG. Pandit Gadadhar Das Brahmacharya, senior police super of jail, Mohammed Iqbal kabir Chy, senior devotee HG. Taran Gour Hari Das Joint secretary of ISKCON Nandankanan HG. Mukunda Bhakti Das Brahmachary, deputy galar of Chittagong jail, Md. Abdus Selim and HG. Apurba Manohar Das Brahmachary. HG. Pandit Gadadhar Das gave a wonderful discourse to the prisoners to encourage them in practicing spiritual activities to rectify their hearts and souls. He addressed this material world, which is a prison house as well. He explained how we are bound by the external energy ( Maya) of the supreme personality of Godhead, Krishna. How the thee moods make us puppet and how we act according to the moods. He also explained the easiest way to rectify oneself to get rid of the bonds of Maya. In order to transform one’s heart, we need to study Srimad Bhagavat Gita (as it is) everyday. He addressed so many other important things to help the prisoners realize the absolute truth.

Prisoners danced in ecstasy with the devotees during the concluding kirtan. The total environment of Jail changed all on a sudden. ISKCON Nandankanan distributed sumptuous Krishna Prasad among the prisoners. The prisoners were blessed by the unconditioned service of the devotee of ISKCON-Nandankanon. It was a lifelong memory and experience for the prisoners, they expressed.
