As ISKCON enters its 60th anniversary year and looks ahead to the 50th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s disappearance in 2027, Hare Krsna TV hosted a special discussion with Chairman of the GBC’s 60/50 Committee, Pancharatna Das, a senior disciple of Srila Prabhupada, and Nitai Madhav Das from Juhu, Mumbai, who is a member of the 60/50 Committee. The conversation emphasized that ISKCON’s 60th as a time for celebration and a renewed commitment to the mission Srila Prabhupada established in 1966.
Pancharatna Dasa reflected on ISKCON’s growth from a small storefront in New York City to a worldwide spiritual movement, encouraging devotees and well-wishers to study Srila Prabhupada’s life, teachings, and the seven purposes of ISKCON. Nitai Madhav Das explained the vision of the 60/50 committee, which is encouraging temples and communities to increase Srila Prabhupada consciousness through a variety of events and initiatives.
Both guests urged devotees worldwide to use these anniversaries as a launching pad for ISKCON’s service in the decades to come. Practical initiatives include a Srila Prabhupada introductory course, 60th anniversary events, youth festivals, Food for Life expansion, Prabhupada katha programs, devotional competitions, documentary screenings, and other creative efforts. Their closing message was simple: become deeply connected with Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON’s mission, and unite that to local service and outreach opportunities.
