~Mayapur Gaura Purnima Nectar~

As we all know, Gaura Purnima festival is not a one-day celebration in Sri Dham Mayapur but a long, one-month celebration; hence, we are very grateful to all those that have participated in sponsoring several sevas during this period. From festival inauguration prasadam to all prasadam sponsorship, Jagannath Misra feast, Sravan Utsav, Kirtan Mela, event sponsorships, Navadwip Parikram, Shantipur Festival, Kirtan Purnima, Maha Abhisheka, and lots more…This Gaura Purnima was an exception, with a flood of devotees, pilgrims, and guests everywhere you went, and the Navadwip mandal parikama was the jewel of it all as the festival camps resumed after the long pandemic period.
The estimate for this year was about 7 thousand visitors plus community devotees, but that number was greatly exceeded as the whole area was well-parked with devotees from all around the world. It was indeed a great joy to see the influence of our dear Gauranga Mahaprabhu on the world.
Sarvabhaum Bhattacharya has written this song “Nava Gaura Varam”. The official name of this song is Sri Sri Sacisutastakam. In this song, Sarvabhaum Bhattacharya glorifies Lord Gaura, the beautiful son of Mother Saci
(2) He is endowed with ever-fresh love of Godhead. His radiant luster is like the color of fresh butter. His fresh attire is arranged in ever-new fashions. He relishes ever new mellows of love for Krsna. He shines in nine-fold new ways while executing the nine-fold processes of devotion. He is permeated with a most auspicious loving nature. I bow down to Gaura, the beautiful son of Mother Saci. More…
Just after Mangal Arati we heard from HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaj and other senior devotees, who very nicely encouraged and urge everyone to spread the love of God everywhere, we go! The Lord’s desire to appear was born from two reasons: the Lord wanted to taste the sweet essence of the mellows of love of God, and He wanted to propagate devotional service in the world on the platform of spontaneous attraction. Thus, He is known as supremely jubilant and as the most merciful of all. (CC adi-lila 15-16)

After the classes, the conch shell resounded loudly, living everyone in great anticipation, the mood of separation would be best denoted by the expressions on the faces of most of the devotees present, as though it has been years since they last saw the Lord, while others were in bhava, waiting to take darshan of the Lord. Finally, it was time; the curtains sprang open, everyone was in deep awe and reverence, and if your eyes are not strong enough, they can’t contain the bliss felt by having the opportunity to take darshan of Their lordships. Oh, dear Gaura! He was looking dashing, and His glowing face, which has the ability to instantly clear any clouded mind, His warm smile, and open hands were all magical! The altars were adorned with thousands of brightly colored flowers ranging from ten to thirteen different varieties; it was like Goloka on earth!
From Mangal Arati to Darshan Arati, through Kirtan Purnima down to the most awaited abhisheka of Their Lordships, it was all just like dripping nectar from that very merciful Gaura, the beautiful son of Mother Sachi Mata. The Climax of the festival was when it was time for Abhisheka, the open field was filled, everyone singing and dancing out their hearts, children running, playing, and jumping in ecstasy. The festival ran down to very late in the night as Kirtan went on for a very long period, it seems like no one cared for anything else at this point.
Jai Gaura!
