FILING THE SNOW by Bhaktimarga Swami

13450111452?profile=RESIZE_584xI was really proud of the fact that I did a major cleanup with my filing cabinet of scripts.  People know me as a walker, dancer, teacher, but I’m also a director of plays who writes scripts for drama.  Well, it was time to clean up that one big drawer, put everything in order, and eliminate bulky bunches of too much paper.

With the help of Nityananda, the assistance went a long way to clearing the anarthas (unwanted accumulations). The project grounded us somewhat.  So, that was one project for the day.  By nightfall, another one arose.

 Snow had arrived.

Uddhava and I were all bundled up ready for a walk after the evening’s Zoom class. We stuck ourselves out of the door for a taste of nature.  The white wonder, snow, had come and we switched directions.

“Get the shovels!”  I asked, and it took us a few minutes to locate the helpful tools for the winter.  Out came three snow shovels, compliments of our coordinator, Amala.  Those flashy red scrapers with decent handles became active.  I was behind one of them until one of our 20-year-olds took the shovel from my hands insisting on being a sidewalk hero.

Well, after three boys completed their work, it left me with a trail to get some chanting done on a class path.  It was a back-and-forth pace.  I got some steps in, but I also felt a willingness to get some scraping in.  Let’s get some time in to please the neighbours, I thought.  Most everyone is the ashram was asleep by now, so I extended with the power invested in me by Krishna, and extended the cleared sidewalk.
