For his first novel with a female protagonist, author Chetan Bhagat sought divine blessings at various temples in Mumbai. Actress Kangana Ranaut launched the book.

Author Chetan Bhagat's ninth book, One Indian Girl, was released just a few days ago by actress Kangana Ranaut. Now on sale, it is his first book written in a female voice. For this book too, Chetan followed the ritual of getting his book blessed by the gods, and went to three temples to seek blessings.

The author took to Twitter to share the picture from inside the ISKCON temple, with the caption, "Dear Krishna, offering you One Indian Girl, with Radhika in it. Bless the book, me and my readers. Forever. At Iskcon Chowpatty, Mumbai."

  • Hare Krishna.
It is good that at least this author is seeking the blessings of the Gods for his material progress.  It is still better than those who have no interest in God or the Demigods and who think they are the center of their progress.
However, it must also be noted that higher than this beneficial position of recognizing God for a business transaction, is to love him without material motive.  Using Radharani's name in trying to get Krishna's attention is cheap flattery, rather distasteful to those trying to appreciate God's greatness and even better, his love for us.  So while we can certainly say the author does well to seek the blessings of the Gods or demigods, he would do still better to try to understand that God has so much more to offer him: a life of unending bliss in devotion, which can be understood in this age by Mantra meditation, the chanting of the highest (Maha) mantra: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
By this process, one can gradually uncover a happiness a million times greater than having God gratify our material desires of temporary material success of this world.  Instead, by this process of Mantra meditation, he will find an inner joy and bliss that comes from realizing the true nature of the self, as a lover of God, who can reciprocate our heart's desire in ways that mere words cannot describe.
We wish the author all success and invite him to associate with like-minded devotees who can help us all advance to this wonderful platform of realizing our true identity as a loving associate of God eternal.  The happiness of that position will make material happiness seem poltry and insignificant in comparison, and the recipient will never look back from it, being completely satisfied.
