Across the world, ISKCON festivals continue to attract thousands of participants each year. Ratha-yatras, kirtan festivals, cultural celebrations, and public outreach events bring devotees and newcomers together in parks, city centers, university campuses, and other public spaces. Organizers often report attendance figures, volunteer participation, prasadam distribution, and book distribution totals as measures of success.
Yet as ISKCON marks its 60th anniversary, a broader question is emerging: what happens after the festival ends?
This question is not meant to diminish the considerable effort required to organize large public events. Rather, it reflects growing interest in understanding how festivals contribute to long-term spiritual engagement and how communities might learn from one another’s outreach experiences.
